I went at a late hour and a friendly lady still got me lunch with the remaining properly stored food.

Great store, restaurant is only "ok" - Edit
I love to shop at Celeiro since it's a place where I can find a lot of different brands and food - but, be careful, it's a little bit expensive!
Read moreI tried the Celeiro restaurant during a short lunch; I had only 15min to lunch, and Celeiro was a life saver for a vegan meal. It's ok, not fantastic food, but I tried the vegan tofu lasagne and was ok. The service is ok, but the restaurant is small, so can be crowded on busy hours.

life saver for on the go vegan - Edit
this is a chain store and we went in three different ones but this is the first one we went in and we bought food (lentil pastries and chocolate cake) and went to eat it at eduardo VII park a short walk from the shop. it can be time consuming to go out for lunch and most places were open for lunch for restricted hours and so these stores were very helpful at those times. ingredients are all in portuguese, but it was easy to work out what was what. some of the foods were labelled vegan but some weren't but we're vegan when you looked through the ingredients I believe that all the food was at least vegetarian. they sold a range of cruelty free cosmetics alongside organic/ vegan/ gluten free foods. many of which you can get in the UK. some of the foods e.g. cereal were quite pricey and we were very disappointed when we had paid €2 each for uht provamel soya milk then went in a pingo doce store and saw alpro soy milk for a cheaper price. they are sell soy yoghurt in the normal supermarkets but do have a limited choice. the fresh food-pastries and cakes were really inexpensive. the pastries averaging about €1.10. these stores all had small cafes too but the food served in them looked more vegetarian than vegan.

The Portuguese Holland & Barrett - Edit
Loads of these stores dotted around Lisbon selling a very decent range of veg / vegan foods, fake meats, groceries, toiletries, vitamins and you name it. There's also a cheeky little cafe which can quell a hunger pang if you need it. I won't go on, it's just a health food store. Bottled drinks are expensive so I'd just suggest you go to the local Pingo Doce for water and fruit juice etc
