Bill Maher is rumored to be a vegetarian actor, comedian, TV personality

Bill Maher went on Larry King Live, and said that he is not a vegetarian, he just does not consume very much meat.

Thanks for sharing this, Chia. I enjoy Bill too! I was about to add him to this list myself, but then I found your listing. I think we can change this from rumored to vegan. He is a board member of PETA and did an ad for PETA on TV. I've heard him bash eating meat on his show before, so I think it's safe to assume he's stuck to his beliefs.

EDIT: I'm confused about what the original post is saying about him claiming to only eat a little bit of meat. In the 2003 interview link that I posted on Larry King Live, he didn't say that he ate any meat nor that he wasn't a vegetarian. Maybe the original post was an earlier interview and since then he has realigned his beliefs.

I enjoy watching Bill Maher's show, Real Time with Bill Maher, on cable channel Showtime. He has strong opinions and isn't afraid to voice them or offend anyone. I agree with a lot of his politics, which is progressive and sometimes even radical.

Bill Maher oftens touts the benefits of NOT eating meat... that plant based diets lead to a healthier life. On his shows he sometimes comments on the direct link between eating meat and global warming from factory farm pollutants. He also connects eating meat and American fast food with diseases like obesity and cancer.

From what he says on his show (2009), he seems like a vegetarian to me, actually. Maybe he is now one. He proudly shares with his audience that he supports PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Oh, and he's big on marijuana.
