She's not a vegan. I'm a sitarist myself and love a lot of her music but she's maybe vegetarian at most. I was rooting for her to be vegan but this is misleading. So also uses a sitar that has a bridge made of barasingha antler, an endangered deer species native to Nepal and a part of India. Synthetic bridges are made now that don't wear down nearly as fast.
