Serves meat, vegan options available. German restaurant offering a few vegan items such as vegetable patties, nuggets and schnitzel. May have a flexible 'rest day' - call ahead. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-14:00, 17:00-20:00.
One of few restaurants in the area with vegan options. The schnitzel comes in a traditional style with fries. It is a bit dry despite the lemon but the side salad helps with that. The crust and taste are very good as is the size. The owner is upfront in a friendly way and the interior has charm.
St. Goar is not very vegan-friendly. Therefore I was happy that we stumbled over this place here, so we didn't have to pay for the ferry to St. Goarshausen again.
I was excited that they had a separate vegetarian/vegan section and offered a classic German Schnitzel dish. But unfortunately it was a little dull. Just plain potatoes and the Schnitzel, no sauce, no spices, it was pretty dry. Maybe they had a bad day, I don't know.
But we had a good time there anyway. I didn't need to explain veganism and the place next to the church was very charming. Plus I got something to eat 😄
