Tolle Atmosphäre im Heidemuseum, im Sommer kann man auch gut draußen sitzen. Der Koch ist auch einmal die Woche im Hillers (Hannovers erstes vegetarisches und mittlerweile rein veganes Restaurant) unterwegs. Das ganze läuft auf Spendenbasis und schmeckt auch noch! Geheimtipp: Knobluachtunke

This is not a regular restaurant, but they rent in once a week in a museum and provide vegan food from medieval times.
Read moreMy understanding: Offers alternate every week. This time they offered 3 meals, all with mushrooms (which I personally do not like, but I could manage to share them with my mates).
One option was to get many "tapas", so all the table was full with different options. Each one was sooo tasty.
Drinks are lemonates, beer, vine, .... but no regular "soft drinks", which I personally liked. The lemonades where so great!
Price: They ask for a donation of 10-20 "Taler" (which is a medieval currency), which probably should be interpreted as Euros for food and drink. Which is definitely very cheap and I strongly recommend to give the "maximum" of 20€ pP or even more. They deserve it.
And background of this seems to be a group which engages for preservation of nature and animal protection.
So this is one of the best locations I have ever been. 100% recomendation.

Schlemmen gegen Spende - Edit
Im Eisernen Heinrich lässt es sich im kleinen und gemütlichen Esszimmer gut entschleunigen. Die Wartezeit kann man mit Gesellschaftsspielen überbrücken. Und das Warten lohnt sich, denn das Essen ist super lecker.
