Separate vegan section in the menu! - Edit
Really nice but a little bit expensive restaurant. The pizza was really delicious (very fluffy!), the tortellini were also good (not as good as the pizza 😊) and the nachos were yummy as a starter. Loved that there is a separate vegan section in the menu.

We saw how a four-legged friend was given a cushion to sit on, a jug of fresh water to fill the drinking bowl and the owners chose something from the dog menu... indeed, there is a separate menu for dogs!
Fortunately, they also had a separate vegan menu for us.😁
We ordered a Garden Vegetable Pizza, Tomato and Roast Red Pepper Soup and a Plant Based Burger. Very tasty!

Friendly service but the food … - Edit
The third star is appreciation for offering a vegan menu to begin with. I had the bowl with couscous, and I was hungry and it was edible. It was mostly rocket and some tomato but there wasn’t really any seasoning. I Love Avocado but even the mashed avo on top didn’t really taste good. The vegan feta wasn’t good, either. Service however, was super friendly and fast.

Went with the family and everyone was happy. There were 5 or 6 vegan options including pizza. Also all desserts were vegan and served with vegan ice cream.

Great experience, we sat in the riverside location for an evening meal. There were about 7 options on the menu, and 4 vegan desserts. We ordered a spinach and squash risotto and a meze platter, thinking the food was overpriced. But then here they come with these massive platter that could easily be shared by 2 people, and a very generous serving of risotto. The aubergine fritters that came with the platter were very crispy. Would definitely come again!

I don’t normally leave feedback but this bad experience is still on my mind, one month on… so here I am, warning other potential customers who would like to find a better lunch in Dunkeld…
Read moreWe decided to eat in this rather inviting beer garden by the river with my visiting family after a lovely walk by the hermitage waterfalls.
After being poorly greeted by the 2 members of staff (we were told to seat at a table meant to accommodate 5/6 people max although we were a party of 4 adults, two 5 year old children and a toddler!! The lady insisted on placing the high chair over the bench seat, rather than by the table side, leaving even less space for one of the adults to seat) we had to wait a fairly long time to be served once we had painfully queued to order and pay at the bar…
Once the food arrived, I was a bit disappointed by the look of the food on my plate. I wish I had taken a picture to prove my point, but my steak “pie”came in between two very thin puff pastry layers, over cooked dry pieces of beef and a few overcooked dry vegetables. Yuck! Not tasty at all… and the same went with the burger I ordered for my son (who didn’t touch his meal) and my sister’s very overpriced burger with badly cooked, poor quality meat.
What a shame… despite such a lovely view, the service and the quality of the food spoilt our visit of Dunkeld.
We definitely won’t be back and we would advise customers to stick to drinks if they visit this unwelcoming place.

Had an amazing lunch here today, they have a great outdoor space next to the river. The menu had a good number of vegan and veggie options that looked interesting. I opted for a superfood salad, it was really tasty and fresh. If I’d had time I’d have got the vegan sticky toffee pudding for dessert, but hopefully I can go back at some point. I couldn’t give this 5 stars as the app won’t let you unless it’s a vegan restaurant but if I could’ve given 5 stars I would have!

We ate here on two occasions in Sep 2020 while waking in the area. Had the chilli which was pretty good and the green Thai curry which was quite nice. Returned for falafel burgers after climbing Schiehallion. Very welcome, though the burgers are really only decent. Nevertheless, a solid choice for the area (especially as things are currently).
