classic ethiopian options

ethiopian cuisine is known for being vegan-friendly, and zoma does it best in cleveland. the veggie platter is also vegan, with your choice of 4 veggie dishes, and easily serves 2 (and then some). everything is flavorful, balanced, and goes well together with injera (a fermented flatbread) no matter what you decide. i personally recommend the split red lentil, collards, chickpea stew, and cabbage!

Five Stars if I could

Really enjoy coming here and having consistently good food and service. I can absolutely devour the kale and cabbage options and the simmered red lentils stew reminds me of a hearty chili.

Delicious family style feast

Wonderful place for vegans! Only a few non-vegan dishes. The whole table typically eats from one large plate, so you may need to ask for separate plates if you're eating with carnivores. Service was very friendly but a little bit under-attentive at times. Overall we all loved the experience and the food and will definitely be coming back!

Will go back to support this!

Vegan menu has combos. It’s really solid Ethiopian food, and I will definitely go back. I liked Nile Vegan in Columbus better, but this is a solid choice! Dominant flavors were sour (injera), salt (bit too much), and heat/spice. So much more diversity of flavor in Ethiopian food is possible!

Pros: Vegan combo menu , Kale, red lentils, cabbage

Cons: Injera was pedestrian

perfect Ethiopian food

Their injera has the perfect, spongy texture and slight tang that sends the entrees over the top. Besides the standard staples most Ethiopian restaurants offer, they also have tofu tibs and mushroom tibs.

wish i could give 5 stars

the restaurant is on the smaller side, and doesn’t take reservations at the moment. you seat yourself upon arriving.
it was very vegan friendly, and they were happy to provide an explanation of how the menu worked as well as the dishes on the menu. i ordered a veggie combo with split yellow peas, split red lentils, chickpea stew, and cabbage. the split red lentils and chickpea stew were had a kick to them, although they were not too spicy. i will note that the portion size was probably a little less than i’ve usually seen for veggie combinations, but it was no shortage of food for us. i found that i really enjoyed the flavors of all four dishes, and the spice level was just right for me. i also appreciated that they provided extra injera when they noticed my table was running out. overall, i’m very pleased with my experience! would recommend😄

Pros: lots of options, all vegetarian options are vegans, good deal for amount of food

Best vegan food!

The vegan options are plentiful and they taste amazing! I especially love the vegetable sambusas, the lentils, and the beans dishes on injera bread. I definitely recommend Zoma to anyone!

Vegan platter was amazing

One section of the menu is vegan (labeled vegetarian). The combo of 4 dishes easily feeds two people. It comes with the traditional Ethiopian pancake bread. My favorite was the spicy red lentil.

Best Ethiopian Around

First off, this place regularly has Vegan Tuesdays. While they're an omni restaurant, they take care of their vegan and vegetarian patrons. Definitely get a veggie combo and try a little of everything. (A 4-part combo will leave two people very full!). My favorites are the split red lentils, the collard green kale, and the green beans and carrots.

Pros: Vegan and Vegetarian Options, Delicious!, Great atmosphere

My favorite restaurant on Lee

This is some of my favorite food, and I'm happy that I live down the street and I can go all the time. I get the veggie combo platter where you pick 3 or 4 items that all go on top of the injera bread. It's enough food to feed two people and it also keeps until the next day surprisingly well. It's hard for me to pick a favorite, since it's all good, but the red lentils and the collards and kale seem to always be two of my choices out of four. The yellow lentils are less spicy, but nothing is overly hot. The people are really nice and the service is quick. They have traditional Ethiopian coffee service. They always have Ethiopian music videos playing. I can't say enough how much I like this place.

Pros: Delicious food, Huge portions, Nice people
