Super pricy restaurant for the food

This restaurant completely change. It has nothing to do with the previous photos. We ended up here for happy cow but it turn up to be a highly fine dinning experience. I put 1 star but the app automatically puts 2 stars. They are trying to find themselves and it seems they want to become a Michelin restaurant but the experience was far away from that. We paid 200 dollars for a set menu as they didn't have more options

Cons: Price, Options

Excellent tasting menu

When we went there was a choice between three set menus with many small courses. The food was well presented and high quality. If this is the kind of restaurant that you enjoy, I recommend it.

They don't serve alcohol.

Pros: well presented food, interesting flavours

Not what I expected

It seems to me that the restaurant rebranded and most of the reviews here do not apply anymore. When we went there (Evening; July 2023), there were only three multi-course set meals to choose from and paid a total of 1000 RMB for two meals. We were not blown away by the food, although it seemed like many ingredients of the dishes might have been particularly rare/special in other ways. I assume., if one is able to appreciate said ingredients - mostly mushrooms - the whole experience might be more exciting.

The Whole Package

Service was perfect; kind, courteous, helpful, attentive friendly and professional. Food was on point. Everything tasted good and we called ahead to reserve a table. I did take us sometime to find the restaurant, so they gave us directions and the kitchen stayed open later to accommodate us.
Dinning here is an experience. Several courses with tea served over a dry ice “steaming” over the table. Gorgeous colors and a variety of shapes and flavours. I don’t have many pictures, but the server was so happy to hear my story of being vegan and even gifted us a few boxes of vegan crackers as vegan food can be hard to come by. 100% amazing experience.

Immaculate vegan establishment

Tucked away in the inner courtyard of a modern complex, this place could be considered quite fancy.

The staff are professional and attentive.

The quality of the food is second to none.

Delicious vegan food, beautifully presented

Delicious food -- all vegan -- in an upscale, quiet, relaxing setting. The dishes we had were all beautifully and creatively presented.

The puff pastries were so gorgeous, but, sadly, turned out to be stuffed with durian, which no one ate. Otherwise, everything was superb!

This place is a great place for a splurge.

Pros: delicious vegan food, beautiful presentation, quiet and relaxing

Excellent meal - a new top favourite dish

We struggled to find the restaurant, but in the end simply looking the address up on apple maps worked fine.
The menu had English descriptions and with the friendly help of the stuff we selected a number of dishes.
The absolute highlight was a very spicy mushroom selection. I could not get enough.
Will highly recommend this restaurant

Pros: The mushroom and chilly selection, Good large selection of interesting options, Friendly staff

Cons: We struggled a bit with having only English

Great vegan restaurant

Although I had a few problems finding it, once I did, I must say it was worth it. This was probably the best of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants that I went to during my stay here.
Great food and a large selection of different meal options. I also enjoyed the slightly more sophisticated ambience.

Pros: Great food, Friendly and helpful staff

Great vegan food in sophisticated setting

A great vegan restaurant on the ground floor, easy to find opposite the Ming Warehouses. A bit more sophisticated than some other restaurants, perhaps a bit more expensive, but not much. Great food and a bit more imaginative than some other vegan restaurants in Beijing. The HappyCow pin can be a bit confusing (it is on the SW corner of DongsiShitiao metro and major road junction.

Pros: Great food - fully vegetarian, Interesting menu options, Friendly staff

Cons: A bit more expensive than some other options

Great vegan place in the heart of Beijing downtown

Great food. Vegan meat made out of soya. Nice hot pots. Other good options. Wine and beer available. Nice ambience. Free WiFi. Books to read. Good ambience. Nice decor. Restaurant situated in central easy to locate area. Food is slightly costly, but that’s because it is in a downtown area where every square feet of business area is costly. So they are probably balancing the cost. You are free to go see the kitchen and it’s cleanliness. Staff is cooperative. Staff uses translators for English - Chinese. Overall good experience. Memorable dinner. Will visit again.

Pros: Good location. Wide menu with vegan soya meat, Wine and beer available. Free WiFi , Friendly staff, good ambience

Cons: Food is little costly, but then it’s down town

Delicious Food in a lovely place

I’ve been to this place twice now in the last 2 weeks and I’ll definitely return there. The restaurant is about 2 minutes from the metro station on the left outside of a large office building. It is beautifully decorated (I especially like the real salads in big vases) and the staff are very friendly (no one speaks a lot of English but they translate with their phones. This can lead to hilarious results but they are really very helpful.
You order the food with ipads (fotos and english titles), the staff will help you) and it is absolutely delicious and very prettily prepared and presented. The portions aren’t enormous and it’s not cheap but definitely worth it.
I can recommend the Black Pepper Mushrooms (cold), the Wuohoming Tofu and the Cucumber Flowers.

Pros: Very good food and the staff is friendly and helpf

Nice food in relaxed but upscale setting

Food was lovely other than the soup I ordered ( can't remember the name of it sorry!) Their menus are all digital pads so difficult to know what to do if you accidentally choose the wrong thing as not all in English. A little bit overpriced but not crazy expensive.

Pros: near metro , smiley staff

Cons: expensive, digital menu

Great place

Certainly recommend this place, it's rather elegant, and appears to have undergone a name change...but the address is correct. We had the spicy beef, some country vegetable thing, and some other yam, mushroom, celery dish. It's open all day....and yes it's very near the subway though we took a taxi from our hotel. Figure on USD$60 for 3 dishes, 3 beers, 3 rice, and 1 dessert. You can do it much cheaper though, e.g. a nice noodle dish for $12. No wine by the glass, just bottle. Tea service of course.

Pros: food, ambiance, service

Cons: no wine by the glass

Hidden gem

Sometimes the strangest things happen. We walked in a random building in Beijing close to the NUO hotel and suddenly saw a sign that said: Vegan. We followed it and it turned out to be the best restaurant ever!

Run by a Buddhist and made with only fresh organic healthy ingredients. This place has so many choices and all are delicious. We went back on numerous occasions and still have not tasted everything!

Sunao in Zhejiang, Beijing is inside the Lido building on the second floor. They have iPads with the menu, in English, staff sometimes speaks English, not always. They all are super friendly.

It seems more pricey than normal in Beijing but it is definitely worth it, then attention and preparation of the food is something rarely seen. It is better than most vegan restaurants I have ever been!

Pros: delicious meals, lots of choices, friendly staff

Great Food, good value

I really enjoyed my meal at Suzhi last night. The dishes were tasty and artfully presented. One of the staff was even friendly!
The portions were not huge, but that was good for me because i like to be able to order more than one thing.
I thought the price was very reasonable for Beijing... most dishes ranged from about Y48 up to about Y70- not a cheap eat, but much cheaper than some of the other classy vegetarian places around.
The restaurant is on the left side of the building as you come out of dongsishitiao south-west exit.

Pros: Great food, Good Value, German Beer

Peaceful atmosphere

The restaurant is situated right next to Dongsishitiao subway (line 2). It's easy to find from the south-west side of the bridge.

Food seems to be Taiwanese and Hong Kong style, also some Korean and Thailand style dishes, such as kimchi. I found the food fresh and food presentation delightful. They use dairy in some of the dishes but it's easy to spot. The menu is in English and has pictures.

Restaurant is a little more expensive, but definitely moderately so. We ordered three dishes, one soup, soy milk and an iced smoothie, everything for bit more than 200 RMB. The restaurant reminds me of the Pure Lotus restaurant chain, but I consider the atmosphere more peaceful and prices more reasonable. Will definitely come back!

Pros: peaceful atmosphere, variety to the traditional dishes

Cons: not vegan
