Vegan streetfood - Edit
Right on the main street (map shows it across the road). Noodle soup and papaya salad all day long. There are pre-cooked meals, but after lunch the selection is limited. Freshly prepared food is available upon request. Coffee shop with vegan options nearby. Recommended homestay within walking distance: Jamjuree Home.

Great value - Edit
This is your typical local 'jay' restaurant, where they have a buffet or you can order from the menu.
Read moreThe owner doesn't speak any English, but you can get by, by either pointing at the buffet, or by pointing at the menu (which is translated to English). When getting stuff from the buffet, I didn't always know what everything was, so it was a bit hit and miss.
There were these rice balls that were amazing. Get them if you can.
They also sell some take-home items, including some 'just add boiling water' noodle pots for 80 baht, so if you're staying somewhere without a kitchen, these would be a good way to be able to eat in your room.
Unlike other similar restaurants in the area, I found they were reliably open when they were supposed to be too.
Pros: Great value, Reliably open when they're supposed to be

Funny, my experience is that they aren't always open for the hours advertised...see my review

So good! - Edit
I’m not totally sure what each dish was but I really liked it! Get something off the buffet or the noodles, which were prob my fav. The tofu in the noodles has sweet ginger flavor that was amazing. There were these dried kinda mushrooms that i really loved too. One lady who was working could speak some English and she went above and beyond to help me.
Read moreIdk if they share space with someone else or if it is a typo, but there was a menu on the wall that mentioned anchovies, but she insisted that everything is all vegan with no fish or other animals. She said the owner was vegan for their whole life. It seemed legit to me and I think it was possibly a translation issue on the sign. The food I had was definitely all vegan and what they served was consistent with other Jay restaurants that I’ve seen. And for sure nothing tasted or smelled fishy. I can spot that sh*t from a mile away.
