Yummy food - Edit
Food was delicious and flavorful. Good portions. The main entree comes with a side of brown rice and miso soup. Staff was on top of coming back to refill our water/teas. Definitely will come back again.

Great apps and meals - Edit
Large portions and not very expensive. The spring rolls were good but a little under cooked for my taste. Highly recommend the scallion pancakes!! Pad Thai was very good but could use a little less lime juice/zest

Good Pan-Asian and all vegan! - Edit
Quite tasty take out. We started with the vegetable tempura and spring rolls and loved them. Sauces were excellent and the portions just right. For meals we had the General Tso’s Soy Protein and the Pad Thai and we ate every bite. For dessert we tried the chocolate cake with the strawberry topping and it was ok, not the most tasty, but a sweet finish to a fabulous dinner otherwise.

Good food - Edit
Delicious food. Get N2 - Udon, you won’t regret it. We also got one of the soy protein main meals. It was good, but can’t remember the name. Also, the tea is good and the edamame is top tier.

Amazing - Edit
This place is so delicious. Right up the road from the place I was staying. Everything is vegan. I got the Malaysian stew but got seitan instead of soy protein. Very refreshing to have all vegan options to choose from.

The food and service are 1st class all the way.
Read moreThe seitan is phenomenal: firm and slightly crispy, not wimpy like you may find in other eateries. Try the smoked Teriyaki seitan strips...Truly the best.

4 stars for being 100% vegan - Edit
This place is pretty far outside of Boston. I don’t believe that there is much else nearby, so, on this alone they are to be applauded. The prices are fair and they have a large menu. I got the steamed dumplings, which were very tasty. I got the General Tso’s Soy Protein, which is breaded and fried soy protein on a bed of broccoli, and smothered in General Tso’s Sauce. It was good, but the sauce was more like sweet and sour sauce or sweet bbq sauce than General Tso sauce. Too sweet for my liking. Still, I ate every bite.

Best vegan Asian in Boston - Edit
I’m a big fan of Zhu. The food and service are both great. They list gluten free options on the menu and online. I wish they’d do less with soy protein and more with tofu, though they’ll switch it out if you ask while dining in. I don’t like anything with a meaty texture. But my only real complaint is that there aren’t enough vegetables! Dishes come only with the veggies mentioned in the menu description. The Singapore street noodles are my favorite, but they’d be better with broccoli! Good location, easy to park, on the 77 bus line.

Fantastic - Edit
It’s been a year since I moved away from Arlington and I still miss this place! I love that it’s all vegan and they have so many delicious options. The lunch specials are an especially good deal. I recommend the soy cutlet sizzling platter, Korean style clear noodles, and sweet n sour soy protein. Nice ambiance and pleasant service. Main courses are a little pricey but they are high quality, generous portions and definitely not something I could recreate at home (really excellent mock meat). Next time I’m in the Boston area I will definitely prioritize a visit to Zhu!
