Inexpensive Buffet - Edit
We found this place after walking along Chiangshu road until we came to CFOOD & CO. then turned right after it, the place is easy to spot with coloured flags & vegetarian written in English on the sign. It isn't open between lunch & dinner, so we went to Starbucks for a coffee until it opened at 5.30pm. The place was busy but we found a table, the buffet was quite large but not as good as the ones I have at my disposal in Shanghai. Saying that it only cost 36rmb for two of us and as there's limited options in Lijiang it's a decent enough place to fill your belly.

Best veggie option in Lijiang! - Edit
Although it is a bit of a walk from the old town, it is worth it. The buffet costs 18yuan/pp as of Sept 2019, and they have 4 kinds of soups, silken tofu, different vegetable options (fried noodles have egg) as well as tasty xiaolongbao and sweet flatbread. Dessert is not vegan, but I was full anyway when I finished my meal.
Read moreI like that they have signs (in Chinese) to tell people to not put too much on their plate and waste it. You can go get more food anytime, then you leave your plate and cutlery in designated boxes for dirty dishes.
Pros: Food wasn’t too spicy, salty, sweet or oily, Cheap with drinks included, Variety
Cons: Tasteless soups

nice and cheap - Edit
Provides a wide spread of dishes. You pay Rmb16 for the buffet and add RMB4 more for the hotpot with buffet. 3 types of soup base to choose from. They do not allow waste of food, hence take what you can eat. I find this an extremely good practise.

Totally Delicious! - Edit
If you're ever in this vicinity, you need to eat here. If you're used to Chinese food from other countries, you're in for a big surprise, as the food here is very wonderfully unique. Most of the buffet dishes are vegan, and the staff was very helpful in helping us to avoid dishes with milk and eggs.
Read moreIt's hard for me to recommend one particular dish from the buffet, since there's such a great variety. The one thing I'll mention is that what looks like a breaded tofu is actually the fermented or stinky tofu. If you haven't developed a taste for that, start out by taking a very small piece, since it's very strong!
It's finally, I have to mention that the price for two people to eat lunch was around $5 for a big meal. Crazy!
Pros: Delicious, great variety, nice people, great price

So good. - Edit
This place is awesome. Stupidly cheap. We paid 16RMB. To have a do it yourself hotpot it costs 20RMB. The quality, freshness of vegetables and spread is one of the best vegetarian buffets that I’ve been to in China (there’s a lot). The place only accepts payment in WeChat or Alipay, but the staff pay for you through there’s and you just give them the cash. Everything is pretty much vegan, except the egg which is obvious in all the dishes. The staff are also very helpful.

Lovely place with lovely food - Edit
We ate here three times in two days, it was amazing! The selection of dishes is very large and they're all good. We especially liked the eggplant, green beans, tea eggs, rose pastries and the limeade.
Read moreStaff is also nice, the first time we ate there they asked us to take a look at the buffet before we paid because some dishes were running low and we might not get a chance to taste everything. There was still plenty of food though.
Pros: great value, excellent food, very large selection

decent veg buffet - Edit
20 yuan for buffet dinner- nothing spectacular but good vegetarian food with lots of options, a few drinks and fresh fruit for dessert as well as dumplings. They use eggs and there were about 3 egg dishes so best to ask if vegan, but these dishes were obvious. Nice setting with lots of Tibetan prayer flags making the place colourful.

Good option in a dry town - Edit
The pin for this restaurant is in the wrong place. It's not on the main road it's 100m down a side street on the south side of the main road 150m from the big crossroads. I've included a picture of the correct location and a picture of the street entrance.
Read moreThe buffet is varied and of a good standard. There is nice seating outside. The buffet is 20 yuan.

Buffet twice a day - Edit
This place is a bit hard to find -you need to walk about 4 minutes off the main street- but worth it. We arrived around 3pm and missed the buffet which is available morning and evenings; but they still served us a delicious hot pot. They gave us a tray for us to chose the vegetables we wanted from a long table and lead us to a room. We also ordered vegan baos which came in an order of 6 and were pretty great.
