Exquisite vegan experience - Edit
The food is not only of great taste, but also high quality, healthy and well balanced. If you want a vegan meal that hits all these spots, there aren't many places around that do it as well. It's accompanied by quiet, relaxing music and a spiritual atmosphere. The staff is polite, attentive and very hospitable. Altogether, our dinner experience was almost as of some deep mindfulness. They do mock fish better than I've ever tried before.

Initially we had some trouble finding the place. We could not find the chinese name written outside (maybe they changed it?). By copying the address in Google maps we got an accurate position. From the outside it looked like it closed down. On the window there was some english text: vegetarian restaurant.
Read moreInside it looked clean and it had a nice ambiance. Service was good and so was the food. They did not speak english but the card has very nice pictures.
Pros: Nice Chinese food, tasty
Cons: Somewhat more expensive, hard to find

One staff was rude - Edit
One of the staff rudely told me not to take photo of foods and menu. That was the very first time in my life I was told not to take photo of food and menu.

Although a bit tricky to find on the southwest side of the stadium, it is well worth finding! The address is correct and works with the map. You will not be disappointed when you get there!

Wait staff are very friendly, but they do not speak English.
The picture menu will be as close to English as you will get if you don't know Chinese. Please don't let this dissuade you.
Would have given it 5 cows, but the salad dressing does have some milk in it.
Pros: excellent food , prices acceptable , clean and friendly
Cons: perhaps a bit hard to find, no English (but have picture menu)

Excellent food and service - Edit
We arrived in Taiyuan after a long drive and our guide helped us find the restaurant after we had shown her the Happy Cow listing.
Read moreWe went for an eggplant dish and the specialty Tofu treat that looks like a fish. With a single bowl of rice between the 2 of us we were well satisfied and the food was delicious.
The staff were attentive and helpful.
We would love to stay and work through the whole extensive menu. The dishes are beautifully photographed in the menu making selection easier for those without Manderin.
