Fair - Edit

We went here for a snack and coffee. I asked if berry smoothie can be made without Goji, but they told me that smoothies are pre-made, which is odd. Selection of cakes was quite limited, so we had a wrap, which was fresh and tasty, decent portion too. We ordered three items from the menu (coffee, smoothie and wrap) and sat outside. The staff brought one item at a time and it was a different person each time, which was really weird.

Pros: Tasty food

Cons: Limited selection, Pre-made smoothies, really?!

Beautiful Brunch - Edit

We went for breakfast/brunch and loved it. Had the pancakes and coconut cream bowl and they were both wonderful. Staff were very attentive and friendly and the good was yum. Quite a slow pace here which is nice - very very relaxed environment where nothing felt rushed. Slightly over priced juices ( in my opinion) given that portion sizes were quite small and inconsistent around sizing - we both ordered juices and coffees and they came in mismatched classes which was odd. Otherwise, would recommend - very close to Van Gogh museum and a lovely spot of calm and escape from the sea of tourists.

Pros: Great location, great environment, really good quality ingredients

Cons: Bit pricey

good vibe, healthy food - Edit

Zest has nice and friendly vibes, good staff.
The menu is not that big(the menu online is bigger with pizza, a second wrap which sounds better than the one they have), but still a variety of some different things.
I liked the raw burger, but it could've been a bit bigger. My friend had the zest wrap which was big, but tasteless.
We shared 2 desserts. A lime cheesecake and walnut fudge. I had raw pie at many different places and these were definitely the most expensive ones. Serving size was good though and taste was fine, but not amazing.

Pros: friendly staff, good vibes, healthy food

Cons: bad lighting, price is sometimes not worth what you get, small menu

Raw food! - Edit

Went here for breakfast one morning - had the delicious chocolate pancakes with a freshly made smoothie. My friend had the breakfast burrito. The food was delicious and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere - a nice way to start your day. Only downside was it was a little pricey but the portions were decent.

Pros: Fresh, delicious food.

Cons: Slightly expensive

Raw food - Edit

I am not a fan of raw food. I didn’t like soup and burger, but pasta is good. Different taste.

Nice raw food restaurant! - Edit

A raw food place anywhere in the world should for me personally always deserve 5 star's, now it's of course not the goal of a review, it should provide some more objective inside for future visitors.

The location and interior are very nice, the staff is lovely and the food is amazing.

They propose a lot of raw food choices and some nice juices.

There is also a little shop so you can buy some desserts to take with you.

Very tasty and healthy food - Edit

Went here for lunch and had the sushi, which was amazing! You can see and taste that the cook is a perfectionist.
As a desert some chocolate cake, very very good!!
The place itself looks really nice and the staff is very friendly, but honestly my focus was more on the good food ;)

Pros: All vegan, all healthy, very tasty!

Cons: A little bit too expensive to go there very often.

Amazing raw food - Edit

I myself am a vegan (not a raw vegan quite yet), and i have tried cafes which are so so when it comes to raw food. But this place is amazing. I had the zest pancake which was a totally different type of raw pancake to what I’ve had before! The only thing I would say about it is that it’s probably better to get the pancake as a desert! My girlfriend had the zest soup which on the day we went was spinach, cashew and spices. Highly recommend this place!

Pros: Quality food

Great find in Amsterdam - Edit

Modern, funky cafe/restaurant. Really friendly staff in a down to earth environment. Had the pumpkin spice latte with home made almond milk and a crepe.
The food is mostly raw and all terrific.
The menu has a pretty good selection of sweet and savoury as well as filling and light. 10/10 would go again.

Pros: Worry free raw vegan menu, Modern, edgy atmosphere, Friendly, very cool staff

Unusual, creative and delicious - Edit

Zest for Life is a really delicious all raw, all vegan place. I've eaten here many, many times and will keep doing so for as long as they're open! Everything I've tried here has been outstanding in taste, quality and creativity. Particular favourites are the pad thai and the banana cream pancakes but I've been happy with everything I've ordered from their menu, the pizza is v small though, is beware of that if you've got a proper hunger on. Their hot drinks are amazing, with the turmeric latte being the queen of them all. Expect fresh, tasty food in highly comfortable and pleasing surroundings. A highlight of Amsterdam!

The art of good food - Edit

The "Zest for Life" restaurant is conveniently located (almost) next to the famous museums of Amsterdam. One can admire the art in one of the world class museums, then afterwards enjoy the art of good food. A nice perk: under these museums is a huge carpark, a rarity in Amsterdam. This means Zest for Life is even reachable by car (otherwise Amsterdam is a nightmare when travelling by car).

The restaurant has a very welcoming, warm atmosphere. Even before ordering I felt I was in the right place. I was there around noon and asked for a light lunch. The chef recommended the Zest Wrap and I took his advice. Glad I did! It's amazing what a skilled chef can do with raw ingredients, just by cutting, soaking and combining them in exactly the right way. The wrap is tasty, juicy and very healthy.

In fact the food was so tasty, that I ordered takeout as well to have Zest for Life food for dinner later that day. The second wrap was great again, as was the dessert (sugar free chocolate cake!). Highly recommended!

Both English and Dutch is spoken. Please note that cash is not accepted, only debitcard and creditcard.

Pros: healthy, tasty, carpark and museums nearby

My first raw vegan pancakes! - Edit

I really loved this place!
I had the raw vegan pancake and my boyfriend had the raw vegan sushi. Both dishes were amazing!
I didn't feel really full afterwards, since I got only one pancake, but was expecting a bit more for the price. But whaterever, it was a first for me, so I didn't bother that much.

Would love to try some of their juices or cakes if I am there again someday!

Pros: Great vibe, Lovely people, Delicious food

Cons: Expensive

The BEST of the BEST in all of Amsterdam! - Edit

I was first here in September 2016 and have been back for lunch or espresso & cake at least 20 times now. NOTHING beats the quality and creativity of the food served here. I've tried everything on the menu at least twice and EVERYTHING is consistently scrumptious & delectable! The staff here are ALL super-nice, super-friendly and absolutely attentive!! I was here again today and everything was perfect! A MUST for vegans when in Amsterdam!!

Pros: Consistently EXCELLENT food! Reasonable prices.

Cons: NONE!!

Convenient location, nice lunch - Edit

Very close to the museum plain, conveniently located for tourists. Cozy atmosphere with a little garden. We had carrot soup, wrap and patthai for lunch. All were nice, especially the soup. Patthai was cold, which was a bit of a surprise. Cakes were also very nice. A little pricey but nice lunch.

Pros: Cozy atmosphere , Friendly staff

Cons: Little pricey for the portion , Busy at lunch time

Vegan for health, not for the animals - Edit

After reading a couple of good reviews about this place I really looked forward to visit it. And indeed, the food (I had the "springrolls") was nice, with a delicious, spicy sauce and the staff was very friendly. I asked if everything was really vegan (i.e., no honey used), and they confirmed. However, there were new, modern leather seats all over the place (plus "capiz" -shell- candle holders, not animal-friendly, either). Not exactly what I (being an ethical vegan) want to see in a vegan restaurant. The smell of leather was pretty strong. The staff told me they already removed 2 big leather seats because of customer complaints. I don't think I will come back here.

Pros: nice, healthy food, friendly staff

Cons: animal-unfriendly interior

Raw food at its best - Edit

Very relaxing place, right next to busy Museumplein. Everything is raw, but not bland. You can see their creativity in everything they serve. The raw sushi and the carrot wrap were really delicious. The same goes for the red velvet muffin and the carrot cake we tried. Friendly staff.
