Yay! - Edit
Yay! Another veggie-nice restaurant in Indy!
Read moreSouth Broad Ripple (SoBro) is quickly becomming veggieville. Just a few blocks north of the also-great SoBro Cafe and a block back from Veg-friendly bar The Sinking Ship, Zest has quite a few vegetarian and even a few vegan dishes on the menu. All are clearly labelled.
The staff also knows what's in their non-menu food such as breads and tapenades, which is always a good sign.
My partner and I noshed on the cornbread fritters appetizer (both yummy and pretty). I went for the Veggie Burger (the homemade "soft/bean" type) and she went for the Tempeh Banh Mi. Both were great.
The place also has a nice wine and drink selection if you're into that sort of thing.
Pros: Good food, Knowledgeable staff, Good price
Cons: Reservations are a good idea

One of my favorite vegan meals I've had in Indy! - Edit
Zest serves creative and genuinely interesting vegan food--food I couldn't (or wouldn't because it's too time consuming) make at home.
Read moreI also appreciate that the atmosphere is a bit more swank than most vegan-friendly options in town. Makes for a lovely date night!
The servers are aware of what is vegan and what is not and seem open to making changes and substitutions.
Pros: Inventive food, Clearly marked vegan options
