Nice Vegan menu in Kagoshima - Edit
This restaurant offered a wide range of menu items, including vegan cutlet curry, vegan gapao rice, vegan plates, and vegan zenzai. Everything was very delicious.

This was inside the Maruya Gardens building which is at the intersection of Tenmonkan dori (the street the trams go along) and Terukuni dori, opposite Mos Burger. Zenzai is on the 7th floor.
Read moreStaff were welcoming and ably pointed out the vegan mains and desserts. The mains (Zenzai box) took a little while to come and there was a mix-up of our food with somebody else's (fortunately we hadn't started eating it when the staff realised the mistake). Also, later the person in charge came and pointed out that one of the small dishes had something in it that wasn't vegan and offered to replace it with something else. In the end he gave us some vegan cookies instead. So he turned what could have been an unpleasant experience into a positive one.
And the food we had was good too - an assortment of pickles and small dishes to accompany the mixed rice and fried wheat gluten and soup. And the warabi dessert was so refreshing while the read beans were warming.

Read moreThey serve the plate until 2:30pm. You can only order the curry after that time, but it's delicious. The staff is friendly but they don't speak much English, which is ok, it works without😄you have a bell at your table to order and you will get a piece of paper which you should bring to the cashier to pay and put your trays away.

Vegans and Carnivores Enjoyed - Edit
We ate here twice and had both the vegan options. It was all fresh and tasty. The food was presented nicely and service was excellent. On our second time there we had non vegan friends with us that said it was the best beef, better than the Kobe beef the had in Japan and one of the said the fish was excellent.

Read moreWe arrived at 14:28 with only 2 minutes remaining for the lunch period and the staff let us order lunch anyway because some was available. The time limit is likely due to the reserve of ingredients because everything is home made.
Everything we ordered was truly delicious and I'm glad I got to try it. I would have loved for there to have a Katsu curry as the katsu and curry on their own were already really good, I think the combination of the two could be perfect.
Quantity wise, it was great for my large appetite with the seitan lunch box and the curry was quite filling as well.
The desert was a Japanese specialty of which the restaurant takes its name and although peculiar, it was delicious, I cannot recommend the lemon one enough if you can !
To top it all, the staff was wonderful, if it was a vegan joint I'd give it 5 stars !
