Hidden gem

Tucked away within a church yard, we had a very filling tasty meal. Owner and family were very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty

Okay

The food sounded and looked really good from the menu (lots of vegan options) but unfortunately the taste of it didn't quite hit the spot for me.

I had a vegan starter platter, then sweet and sour vchicken with rice. There was a lot of sauce (too much) and not enough rice with it. The crispy vegan chicken bits had a good texture but tasted a bit bland.

Awful

Ordered a takeaway from here. I'm not a fan of fake meats so we chose the pad Thai and the crispy noodles with tofu & pak choi. Bitterly disappointed! The pad Thai was alright (not amazing), my other half enjoyed it, but my dish was just awful,. Even the noodles were poor, but the rest of it was just slimy gloop with a bit of flabby, gelatinous tofu and slimy veg. Tasted of nothing but salt. Revolting and competely inedible. I love tofu, I love noodles and I love veg. I love salt too. I can't understand how anyone could make this dish so bad. If we had been dining in the restaurant I would have sent my food back with a complaint. Astonishingly overpriced as well.

Wonderful

What a hidden gem. Great cafe/restaurant; tucked away, but well worth your time to find it.

Pros: Delicious food, Very reasonably priced, Friendly staff

Cons: Maybe a touch salty, but otherwise excellent

Fab restaurant! Almost fully vegan

Loved this restaurant! Good prices and they also sell mock meats and vital wheat gluten.

Food was yummy and service great.

There is is a parkrun nearby so it would be great for visiting vegan runners if they opened earlier. 🤞😁

Pros: Variety on menu , Food quality , Price

Cons: Limited opening hours , Don’t open for breakfast until 11am on a Saturday , Location

Cheap and cheerful Chinese

Eating here reminded me of the Chinese takeaways I would get before I was vegan. The menu is mostly vegan and pretty cheap.

A Hidden Gem

Happy Cow didn’t disappoint in leading me to this gem - tucked away and connected to what looks like a Monastery situated in a busy urban part of Gloucester. Following the host’s recommendation I ordered the BBQ Bao Bun (delicious & crispy interior within a fresh steamy bun - I’ll be back just for this) and Singapore Noodles (with fresh brocoli spears and carrot slivers). Overall a hit.

Pros: Walkable from city centre, Reasonabley priced, Warm and welcoming.

Great menu, great people.

There's nothing I don't like; the food's great, the people are really friendly, they sell vegan groceries (basically all of the ingredients they use in the restaurant), and it all goes to support the Buddhist temple it's attached to. Great place.

Awful food

Really sad to say because I like to support plant based businesses, but it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The salt and pepper tofu was gluey and tasteless, instead of crispy and flavorsome. The veg stir fry was also a huge disappointment, the flavors and textures are JUST BAD. Please, you need to care more about your customers and make better food. I won't be taking my chances again though, too much disappointment!

Wow wow wow!!

Absolutely gorgeous! We were looking for a Vegan Chinese and saw this on Happy cow and are so pleased we tried it! So much vegan and vegetarian choices, kind, helpful staff and huge portions. Without a doubt, try some of the sides too and the vegan brownie was incredible! We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Delicious

We had a takeaway which was absolutely 1st class. Will be visiting the restaurant soon & buying some products from the shop

Pros: Wholesome, Couldn’t taste any additives , Decent size portions

Cons: Crispy chilli beef was a bit small

Awesome chinese

I would very much recommend this spot. The restaurant itself is nice and has a pretty garden to one side (a busy road to the other sadly)

We'd used their website to buy some of the chinese mock meats that we love and decided to pay their restaurant a visit whilst in the area. They use a lot of these mock meats in their cooking, and they use them very very well. All the food was of a high quality and well cooked.

Of particular note were the Fried Mantou, which are a sort of donut, it comes with a spreadable sauce which is very similar to honey, I thought it was perhaps a lotus root based sauce but they wanted to keep the secret when I asked! Also the Seaweed mushroom was amazing, I'm a big fan of deep fried mushrooms, they really have that moist and meaty quality missing from many mock meats. Also I would highly recommend trying the mutton in one of the main dishes, we are big fans of the TKC mutton (which ZenV store sell, if it's not in the big freezer just ask them) and cook at home with it when we can get hold of some, it's very unique.

In all a great place, great food and very friendly staff.

Haven in a busy area, walking distance from hospital

Great place, some parking just outside, had a lovely chat with a member of staff. Bubble tea tasty and cool menu. Yummy, want to go back.

Good Food

The food was very good, and would definitely come back when in the area. I have eaten much better similar food elsewhere, which is the reason for 4* not 5*, but everything else was spot on.

Wonderful service

Yummy vegan food @ Gloucester Centre

Nice vegan cafe @ the centre. Nice foods and nice place to sit down inside. Also, there are veggie products at the corner of the cafe.

Delicious Chinese

Wow it has been ages since I’ve had a decent vegan Chinese, this place is great! Lovely, attentive staff team. Varied menu full of authentic tasting dishes with a mix of faux meat, tofu and veg options. Took a carny friend with me who loved it too. Free on-site parking and they offer delivery. Will defo be coming back!
