Avoid.. if you love yourself - Edit
Worst experience ever. We didn’t get water served till we got our food and had to chase the waitress.

Fair Fare - Edit
This place might have gotten 4 stars if it had the most basic of sushi restaurant offerings: pickled ginger, wasabi, and inari. There is no pickled ginger at the table or on the plates. Although I don’t like wasabi, I find it strange that there is none to be found at this establishment. Inari is a mainstay of even the most basic of joints (and a reliable vegan option featuring some protein vis a vis the tofu). Despite all that though, what items they DO offer are quite tasty. Recommend the veggie tempura and avocado rolls.

Several vegan options that are more interesting than a typical sushi restaurant - Edit
I've looked at lots of sushi menus in Bellingham and so far only Zen Sushi offers any truly interesting vegetarian/vegan rolls. (I avoid places that offer only a cucumber roll and avocado roll!) We always order take-out due to COVID fears and I've never been a fan of conveyor belt sushi- too hard to tell which items are really veg.
Read moreWe order all these items regularly:
Crispy Tofu Roll
Zen Roll
Beji-Maki Roll
Veggie Tempura Roll
Inari Nigiri
Tamago Nigiri (not vegan, this is made with egg)
They also offer these vegetarian items, which we've never ordered:
Sesame noodles
Cucumber salad
Spring rolls
Vegetable tempura
Cucumber roll
(Tip: When ordering, remember to check all the sections of the menu, not only rolls but nigiri etc.)
Pros: Tasty, Interesting offerings
Cons: Slow - always a wait for togo pickup

No Frills Sushi - Edit
It’s great to have a vegan sushi option. The staff are nice and rolls are basic but pretty good. We enjoyed the tofu roll, veggie roll, and zen roll. They also have a cucumber roll which we did not try. Cool conveyor belt sushi experience.
