Great food, great space

We came here just before closing one day and picked up a whole heap of take our baked goods (muffins, donuts and cakes). We knew we'd missed the meal period but went back the following day for a lunch plate. Everything was amazing, as is the space.

We also bought a couple of pre-packaged goods, and after the fact weren't sure they were vegan or not (our translate apps weren't very clear). We asked a staff member "is eveeything here vegan?" and she confidently replied yes. We asked of our purchases, "even these?" at which point she had to double check the ingredients on the package. Both the items we bought were vegan, but the fact she had to double check made us wonder if maybe not everything they sell is vegan. May be worth confirming just to be safe.

Relaxing space

Zeal is about 15 minutes drive from central Miyazaki but it’s worth the trip. The cafe is huge, with a garden, children’s play area, reading space etc. All the food is vegan and the small shop sells local organic vegetables and dried foods. The restaurant is no longer buffet style (since the pandemic) and there is no English menu. But the choice is simple: just one morning set (¥880) and one lunch set (¥1540), plus drinks and cakes. Food was tasty but the cafe would be a great place to spend the whole afternoon, relaxing and allowing your kids run around.

Pros: Beautiful space, Tasty food, Shop selling interesting vegan items

Cons: A bit out of the way

Long wait but delicious and healthy!

Amazing building with a great atmosphere. Very fancy and cosy. The wait was long for food but it was very tasty and healthy. No English menu but they have English speakers which helped with the order. Only open weekends so definitely worth it for a treat.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Not so expensive when everything is considered

Vegan magic up in the hills

This place is an absolute gem! The food we had (the set lunch meal and two desserts) was creatively made and incredibly delicious! The place is spacious on the inside, and the outside is beautifully surrounded by greenery. The staff were lovely, and one could speak great English.

It's up in the hills so you need a car to get there, but it's totally worth the drive. Just follow the signs. When we went (Sept 2019) they were only open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, 9-11am for breakfast, 11am-2:30pm for lunch, and 2:30-5pm for afternoon tea, but this could change though so best to call ahead.
