I'm glad I only ordered a cappucino

Certainly not the best place for vegan dishes in town. Everything seemed fusty to me.

Cons: 0,50 EUR extra for capuccino with plant-based milk, Not very clean, No toilet

Bakery with vegan options and bowls

Zazza is a small bakery in Berlin Kreuzberg. They offer just a few vegan bakeries, but their salad buffet is quite nice. Vegan options are not labeled, so you have to ask the stuff what is vegan. I like that I can get there a bowl with healthy ingredients and it's cheaper than most similar bowls in regular restaurants. They offer the bowls in two sizes. Vegan options for the bowl are for example: Chickpea salad with veggies and quinoa, grilled veggies, mushrooms with leek, carrot salad, white beans in tomato sauce and some more options. They also have two vegan sauces: Hummus or spicy red sauce. Good place, if you are on the run and just want to grap some quick healthy dinner. You can take the dish in a container "to go" Or sit down inside or at the tables outside.

NOT vegan/vegetarian

I used to like this place, so was really shocked today when I ordered a bowl and there were pieces of actual chicken in it. Even though this place has vegan/vegetarian in its name, it is not! I find that really bad as I assumed that I don't have to ask beforehand whether the dishes have any meat, since the restaurant advertises itself as vegan/vegetarian. Clearly they have no clue what that means.

Cons: NOT vegan/vegetarian

Lots of vegan choices from the display counter

For a nice, somewhat quick meal, this place has plenty of very decent vegan options to choose from at their display case. The portions are plentiful and the price is good.

Pros: good food for low price

Cons: not much seating

no labels on vegan food

I‘ve been here quite a few times to get breakfast to go. They advertise vegan options on large displays outside the café, but once you go inside and ask they barely have anything vegan. I also noticed that the answers vary a lot depending on who serves you. Once I was told that some of the baked goods are vegan, other times they said only the salads are vegan. Since I went here for breakfast I usually asked them to prepare a vegan sandwich for me. Again, their responses varied. I was lucky sometimes and they prepared a fresh sandwich with grilled vegetables which always tasted amazing. Other times they refused to prepare something or didn‘t have any vegetables left. I don‘t come here anymore because I never know which options are actually vegan since I always got a different answer.

Pros: tasty food, great selection if you don‘t need vegan food, nice staff

Cons: no labels on vegan options, staff don‘t know what‘s vegan

2-3 vegan bakery and huge buffet selection with a lot of vegan options.

I go there several times to get bulgur salat and it taste good and it's cheap. They also have a peanut butter chocolate cake which taste like a food bomb and some apple rolls. Just ask, totally friendly people.

not impressed with the "lunch"

this little place probably wasn't the best choice for lunch. the tortellini weren't vegan so i settled for a mixed plate of salad. i would have liked a small one, but that's only available for take away/in a plastic tray and i don't want to add to garbage when i feel like eating in. there's several options to choose from when going for the salad, all cold though. i had white big beans (nice but only little taste), bulgur (nice, but without any added spices) and a mix of veggies (i can't narrow down what those tasted of but the overall taste wasn't any good. the pumpkin wasn't done, the peppers and courgette i only tried but left the rest). to be fair, my boyfriend liked his tortellini, which is why i'm adding a star to my personal rating. the place itself was ok, there's not much seating options inside but that's alright. service wasn't outstanding but fine. the girls sitting next to us seemed to be regulars and were joking around with the girl behind the counter. when we left there was a long queue so it seems to be a good frequented spot. after all, it's in a great area. but: there's better options.

Nice little snack bar

Ideally located right next to the Schlesisches Tor metro station, Zazza is a small food & coffee joint with several light snack options: burgers, sandwiches... The salad & vegetables buffet is a good option, with a choice of 3 different elements for 4-5 € (and portions are huge). There are just a few tables (2-3 outside as well). It is open very early in the morning, and the staff is nice. To be recommended if you're looking for a simple, fast lunch (and I haven't tried the cakes, but they seemed tasty as weel).

Pros: Location, Cheap, Composing your plate

Zazza Galore

I first stumbled upon this bakery in April whilst visiting Die Rebellion des Zimtsterns, which is next door and was impressed with what they had to offer such as an excellent looking salad bar that I must get next time, takeaway cous cous and tasty dishes such as ratatouille and gnocchi, all at very reasonable prices. They also had some delicious looking desserts including oreo cheesecake, cookies and brownies. I have since been back recently and I was going to get some gnocchi but was unsure whether it was vegan, as was the girl serving me until she asked the owner. Sadly it contained butter, which was disappointing and the pasta dish also had cheese in it. Simple labelling of vegan items would help overcome this. Instead I just got a great coffee with a friend. This is a great area to visit as there are loads of vegan/veggie places close to each other and Zazza is a perfect place if you want a coffee, quick snack or a treat to takeaway. You should not partially rate it only because you are missing some information. It affects negatively the rating of the place for no reason.

Highly understated! GO!

Amazing food fair price and great taste. The food was the best I had in Berlin after 5day trip. As a Londoner used to many different cuisines and quality I can compare and say that this place had some fantastic tasting food.

Pros: friendly, taste, price

Cons: none

Zazza Bakery

I went in and they had a few vegan options sitting out like salad, baklava, etc. I asked if any of their sandwiches were vegan - they weren't, but the woman there promptly made me a delicious roast vegetable and falafel sandwich!
