CLOSED: zpizza

zpizza offers the Berkeley Vegan Pizza: Housemade Marinara Sauce, Daiya cheese, Gardein Vegan Sausage, Roasted Zucchini, Roma Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Red Onions, and Bell Peppers. They also offer the California Veggie and Cheese Pizzas that can be veganized by requesting Daiya cheese. Dining options include: Dine-in, Delivery and Carry-out (Including a Take-N-Bake option).

We arrived @ 7:49 pm and were the only patrons there. I noticed that there were tables not cleared or wiped down and for a place being empty, the dining area should have been somewhat attended to. We ordered the Berkeley Vegan pizza ($28.95) with no tomatoes, red onions or bell peppers and request black, green olives and arugula be added. After 30 minutes, the server/supervisor brought out our pie. As she set it out, she noticed that the olives were not added. She immediately, took the pizza back and made a new pizza from scratch. When the girl who prepared the original pizza returned from her break, the supervisor told her of the errors and said that the order was on the screen for her to refer to and questioned her about the olives and vegan cheese. We received the correct pizza a half an hour later and the supervisor apologized for the delay. In the end, we received the pizza that we ordered and it was delicious, however, there was no attempt by either staff to compensate us for the mistake and extra 30 minute wait. We will be cautious about returning to the Kailua location, but will give it another try soon.

I've visited a few times since my previous review and the second time - everything was great: the pizza was delicious, the establishment was attended to and the staff was friendly and paid attention to detail. On the third visit, there was a hand-written sign on the door (during dinner hours) stating that they would be back in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, there was no time specified on the note so we did not know when the 20 minutes started so we left.
