Good food

The food was good, especially the sesame pau. The price was too high in comparison to other restaurants in the area.

Delicious

Great local food, very accommodating for allergies and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful with helping us to chose dishes based on their recommendations! There is a daily chef’s special which was a yummy laksa for our day!

Leckeres veganes Essen

Good, all Vegetarian

Food was good and the stuff helped with the order and answered all my questions. Would love to have a portion of veggies, Brokkoli or carrot for example, just plain. Often the veggie bites a very small in a soup or when it comes with rice and all is too much fried then.

Delicious but overpriced

The food and tea here was delicious and the deco was nice, however the portion sizes were small and overpriced.

Pros: Vegan friendly , Great food

Cons: Overpriced

Delicious but expensive

One of the more fancy restaurants we went to in Penang. There were plenty of vegan options and the food was delicious. Just quite expensive unfortunately, especially compared to other vegan places in Penang.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Expensive

Good food but very expensive. Plus tax added on.

Was very empty when i went. The food was good but quantities were small and the price was rather high especially since on top of it there is a percentage of tax added when you go to pay your bill.

Some really delicious stuff

This was my favorite meal in Penang, and much much better than the sister restaurant Yun Shui Ge.

The winner was the fried sesame bun. Get it. The loh bak was good, as was the millet dumpling (really a zongzi rather than a dumpling, if you know what that is). The red fermented noodle, as we were warned by the server, is not for everyone. I didn't mind its strong alcoholic taste, but I also felt like there were probably tastier options on the menu, so not bad but you might want to try something less odd.

The one negative was the chee chong fun (rice rolls). We got the Penang flavor, and it tasted like rojak sauce, which I don't care for. If you get this, choose one of the other flavors.

Big thumbs up for the nutmeg juice and the lemongrass pandan tea.

If you want food experiences, this is the place

This restaurant had many Malaysian dishes on the menu. We had asam laksa and red yeast fermented glutinous rice as main courses. The owner told us about the dishes and what sort of flavours to expect. Both were tasty and something new to us. We also had desserts and the other dessert was not on the menu, rather the owner told us about this dessert. The name of the dish escapes me but it was jelly-like pearls with sugary sauce and coconut milk on top. That happened to be the best dessert I've ever tasted.

Pros: Friendly owner and staff, Malaysian dishes you wouldn't find elsewhere

Nice

We chose this place for our last night in Penang. Given the other comments we were worried it would be hard to find but we just followed Google Maps and it took us straight there. It's a nice place that sells Chinese dishes and a few western dishes. We chose the Chinese dishes as they looked more interesting and unique and they were tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant. The decor is quite classy. The staff are knowledgeable about what is vegan.
Shame they didn't have more vegan western options.

Pros: Nice setting, Unique dishes

Cons: Not all vegan

authentic elegance

Yun Shan Ge was not so easy to find given our directions, but well worth the effort. If you go, come from the Fort Cornwallis side and look for the octagonal windows on either side of the door, they are unique.
The dining room is filled with an understated quiet elegance rarely found in this world. The solid wooden chairs are simple and comfortable, the tables made of wood and marble, a big open room, not at all crowded, peacefully quiet and yet a steady stream of customers, soft classical music in the background, a wonderful oasis to be in.
We wanted to try some authentic Malaysian food, and the waitress was most helpful in this regard, particularly since we had never had any before.
The food was 100% vegan, utterly delicious, carefully and lovingly prepared, beautifully spiced (with no garlic or onion).
We were encouraged to take our time and enjoy our meal, there is no rushing here.
For about 6 American dollars we were both totally satisfied with the amount of food given.
The woman who served us is the single most gracious person I have ever been served by in 40+ years of dining in more than a dozen countries around the world.
Highly recommended.

Nice Malaysian/Chinese place

Large, air conditioned restaurant near ferry and Little India. Good English. They have about 3 specials which change each day, and appetizers. Prices are 8-13 ringit for a main. Tasty Malaysian food.

love it

Excellent customer service. They explained and suggested the dishes for us to try. Very lovely staff and this is a place you must visit :)
Place is a bit hard to find as there is no English name sign outside, and it is a bit up the road from where it shows on the map.
