Delicious vegetarian food

Situated in the monastery premises this restaurant serves delicious vegetarian food and mock meats. While a few items weren't vegan, e.g., fried rice comes with egg by default, they give you the option to veganise it if you want. The food was good quality and the staff were helpful. They have an English menu with pictures. The BBQ pork actually tasted extremely close to real BBQ pig fat.

Pros: Helpful/friendly staff, English menu, Good food

Local flavours

This is a great place to stop for lunch when exploring the Yuen Yuen institute. We had soup woth dumplings and a mushroom dish. All was delicious. The prices are reasonable.

Pros: Tasty Buddhist food

Happy Veggies - Yuen Yuen, Hong Kong

It's like Happy Veggies elsewhere. The social enterprise arrangement to employ hearing impaired staff is wonderful.

The food is good also. It's a good idea to download the vegan passport if you speak Chinese neither verbally nor in sign language (for depending on the staff member who helps you). Dishes on the menu containing egg are marked. I believe the waitress indicated they don't milk nor honey. However such is my still abysmal grasp of HK linguistics I can offer no assurances re that.

It's an interesting setting among all the Buddhist / Taoist and Confuscist (sp?) type architecture and culture.

Pros: Vegan friendly, Social enterprise employing hearing impaired staff

Cons: 100% vegan would be better
