Great Food and Friendly Service - Edit
I've been to Yuan Fu a few times and visited again last week for lunch. The food was tasty and the service was really friendly. The lunch specials are great if you don't want to pay the slightly higher dinner prices.
Read moreMy sister ordered the wonton soup and raved about it. I ordered the spring roll and thought it was good, but pretty much your standard, deep-fried spring roll (apart from being a generous size). We both ordered the crispy orange chicken, which was a slightly more expensive lunch set at $9.95 (before tax and tip). We both thought the crispy orange chicken was really good, although an admittedly indulgent option, being fried and covered with sauce. This is definitely a great restaurant for vegans and vegetarians who want to indulge a bit! No complaints here and I will definitely be back!
Pros: Friendly Service, Tasty Food

Solid Spot! - Edit
The vegan duck was incredible! I wasn’t a huge fan of their sesame beef dish, but otherwise a really good meal. Great for reliably vegan sesame noodles, dumplings, and tofu skin!

Best vegan duck I’ve ever had - Edit
Honestly pretty skeptical at first but the vegan duck was the best I’ve ever had. Not sure if it had the right texture but god the taste was wonderful. I’m always going back to have more.

Vegan Chinese food--what's not to love? - Edit
I've been to Yuan Fu numerous times, and it's always satisfying and delicious. Everything is vegan. There are so many options--it's difficult to decide. I have enjoyed both Steamed and Pan Fried Dumplings, Chicken with Mix Vegetables, Beef with Mix Vegetables, Veggie Duck with Basil and Ginger in Hot Pot, and others. I really appreciate this restaurant. It doesn't use MSG, either. Also, parking is easy.

Adequate - Edit
I guess I was hyped by all the great reviews. I had the fried curry dumplings and the steamed dumplings. You couldn’t really taste anything in the curry dumplings, but the steamed dumplings were pretty good. I’d have that again. Then I had the eggplant/mushroom dish, everything was deep fried and some items were charred. I guess that was to add flavor but I didn’t think it added anything. The entree seemed a bit bland. I would consider giving it another try, but with lower expectations.

so unique!! - Edit
wow they got really creative with their food!!! you have to try this place. it's like nothing vegan I've ever had before. the "meaty" textures were perfect. the "duck" was made from fried tofu skin with watercress, mushroom, and seitan. the seitan "pork" yu shang was an enormous portion! there must have been 60g of protein or more on that plate! The staff was super friendly. the food came out FAST, even though he restaurant was completely full. it wasn't expensive. highly recommend!!

What a treat! - Edit
I ordered a few appetizers for dinner. The wonton soup was very good with a delicious, flavorful broth and came with a plate of fried wonton strips which were a crunchy treat.
Read moreThe filling in the fried (or steamed) dumplings was a very tasty mince of mushrooms and tofu. There was also a very generous amount of filling. I didn’t care for the dumpling dough though—whatever butter substitute they use had a bitter aftertaste that overpowered the delicate filling.
The stand out appetizer was the tan tan (dan dan) noodles. The owner (who is very warm and welcoming) makes the spinach noodles by hand! They were tender and cooked perfectly. The noodles also had a wonderful spicy flavor. I highly recommend the tan tan noodles if you enjoy a little spicy heat.
Pros: Tan tan noodle appetizer , So much variety , Warm and friendly staff
