CLOSED: Yu Quan

The vege store is still open and you can buy your mock meats and baked goods there however the resturaunt is closed and was still closed the last time we were there last week. I do not know if they are remodelling or if it is closed forgood. will keep you updated on the situation

I've been to 6 or 7 vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Kunming and this one is the worst; the food is not great and most of their dishes are made for people who like meat but are looking for something healthier. The dishes all have animal shapes like duck, tortoise, pig, etc.
The prices were already very high las year and this year they increased every single dish by 10kuai.
There are much better and cheaper vegan restaurants in Kunming.

i dined here today. it's at #22 between the temple and Qingnian street. the staff are friendly but don't speak English. There's a menu with pix and English translations. I had steamed dumplings (Y20), stir-fried eggplant (Y10), cauliflower (Y10) and fried vege rice (Y15). All dishes were fine and i took half of it back to my hotel as take-away because there was simply too much for me to eat! The restaurant has a shop selling cakes and biscuits, mock-meat in packets, etc, out front.

had lunch here today and was very impressed, clean and full of monks.
the menu states no amimal product, or egss are used, so vegans will be very happy.
full of mock meat dishes which are very tasty. prices start from cny15. no english is spoken but an english menu is available.
