Nice & simple veggie food

If you're not allergic to Hare Krishna & new age vibes, this place is a great option for central & cheap veggie indian-style food.
For around 1300 HUF (about 4 €), you'll get a soup + 1 (big) plate of a mix of vegetables/seitan + rice or another cereal.
It's simple, tasty, the place is clean and quiet. To be recommended.

Pros: Tasty, Cheap, Central

Another Hare Krishna place in the city center

The location of the place is perfect, close to Kálvin square - National Museum area -. It also serves as a yoga center. The place is decorated with religious ornaments adoring Lord Krishna.

It was almost 5 pm when I got there, therefore they were cleaning up the place.
I would say there are quite a few vegan options, including the daily menu, they server burgers and sweets too. Most of the dishes represent the Indian cuisine. I opted for the daily menu (3 EUR) was which was a sabji with rice and Indian bread. It was delicious and perfectly spiced.
The staff was friendly, gladly explaining everything about the food that is served, not sure if English is spoken though.

Pros: calm, value price, friendly stuff

Cons: closes to early

decent food & friendly staff - worth a visit!

Buffet style restaurant. Had lunch there twice. Both times I could choose between two vegan menu options - different vegetable stews with either rice or bread. I got a small portion (650 HUF) and a big bowl of salad (530 HUF) to go with it and a chocolate-sour cherry cake for later (310 HUF). Though not very exciting or surprising in taste the food is good and very fresh (however, I did get there very early both times). I particularly liked the cake as it was not too sweet and sappy in a nice way.

There is free water and a 5% student discount with a valid (international) student ID. Additionally there is a small section with packaged goods for sale, mainly tea, Indian spices and snacks like power bars (vegan, gluten free, superfoods etc.).

The level of English among the staff varies but all of them were very friendly and asked colleagues and customers for help if they didn't understand or had trouble explaining something.

As the sitting area is rather dark and gloomy and tends to get packed fast during lunch time you might wanna consider taking your food with you to the nearby Danube.

Pros: free water, student discount, good location

Cons: dark sitting area, gets very packed at lunch time
