Sackstrasse 27, Graz, Austria, 8010

Yisu is Chinese and means small vegetarian meal. Midori (which also served meat dishes and had a running sushi conveyor belt) closed around April 2017, and has now reopened as Yisu, all new and exclusively serving vegan and vegetarian dishes. All meat dishes on the menu are made with soy or seitan based faux meat. Dishes are also available as takeout now. Open Tue-Sun 11:30am-2:30pm, 7:00pm-9:00pm. Closed Mon.

New name, better everything - Edit

I ate food from there about 10 times now since the name changed. I mostly ate home, but the inside of it looks amazing, the few times i actually ate there i was amazed about how well the dishes look und their stone plates. Mostly really delicious food, the breaded soymeat is my fav and the fresh springrolls also get my recommendation.

Pros: A lot of pretty unusual dishes, free fast shipping by bike, very responsive to criticism

Cons: bit on the expensive side, a bit confusing that everything seems to be vegan,

Good veggie food - Edit

The service was really good - staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good but nothing special, and it was pretty expensive for what it was. I’ve been to better value veggie / vegan places in Graz, but this was different to the usual as it served oriental food. I would recommend if you fancy something different but it’s not the beat food I’ve had since being here. I would rate it 3.5/5.

Great food! - Edit

Until the menu is finalised, there is only a limited preliminary menu without any pictures or detailed descriptions, but we ordered various dishes, and everything was just about perfect! The fried noodles are ho fun noodles with stir-fried vegetables, tofu, and slightly smoky tasting strips of very good homemade soy-meat. (Ovo-vegetarians can choose to have egg added to the fried noodles or fried rice.) The vegan gyoza are very umami (the filling has shiitake mushrooms, one of my favourite ingredients!) and are served with a dipping sauce that's on the sweet side. For dessert there is a choice of either vegan coconut pudding or mochi (filled with adzuki bean paste). The mochi aren't homemade, but they come with a side of cubed mango, which is so nice it should be its own item on the dessert menu.

UPDATE: The menu is finalised now, and while not too extensive, every single thing we've tried has been amazing. There's a good choice of vegan ramen, and the fried tofu and vegetables in curry sauce is the best thing I've eaten in ages. Not as spicy as the menu states, but made with lovely warm spices, and served up with a special pink and wild rice mix which brings out all the great flavours.
