Assessment - Edit
If you are longing for grocery shopping at a store, which doesn't do business based on violation of the existence rights of subjects like animals, you've reached your destination. Currently - Feb 2023 - this is the only grocery in Düsseldorf with a completely vegan assortment - all vegan, whole plant food and basically regional and seasonal. First impression when you are spotting it in the north of Carlsplatz will be like 'Woah!! What a wide range of whole plant food!'. The banner at the fruit and vegetables stand makes it transparent: This market vendor receives fruit and vegetables from the düsseldorfer vegetable gardening and trading company 'Willi Andree Gemüsebau', which also has a completely vegan assortment - https://www.andree-gemuese.de/ . Giving that info in this way is another huge plus: It builds up unprecedented transparency about the food displayed in front of you. Following this web link, for example, you'll find out what of the whole plant food items are self-gardened by said regional vegetable gardening and trading company, and in what month range the respective whole food items are in-season and get harvested by said company. Almost nothing at fruit and vegetable stand 'Yildiz - Frisches Obst und Gemüse' is organic, only the lemons are. Most of the offered pears and apples look extremely sprayed: Over-sized, high-glossy, flawless - all in all like plastic decoration fruits. Prices of fruits and vegetable stand 'Yildiz - Frisches Obst und Gemüse' are expensive. When it comes to catering herbs portion wishes of costumers this fruits and vegetable stand is unflexible and wastful: Cilantro? Only in 1 bunch - which is family-household-size-huge. Request for 1/2 bunch? Rejection. Repetition of request. Swayed, 1/2 for Customers to the price of 1 whole bunch, the rest 1/2 thrown into the garbage and acted as if that rest can't be sold anymore and that it's your fault that it got trashed. 1 bunch policy: For super markets, borderline, for fruits and vegetable stands at a market, inacceptable - other market vendors at Carlsplatz accomodate to your wishes of single-household-friendly, smaller portions, so, it is possible to receive herbs from wholesale in a way that in retail you can sell the costumer in front of you smaller portions, like for example 1/2 a bunch, or 5 sprays of rosemary. Handling of costumers is moderate: Not bad, not good, no reason to avoid, no reason to seek for preferentially.
