My favorite roasted chicken and char siew rice set - Edit
Must recommend this vegan stall: Yi Xiang Vegetarian, formerly known as Yi Xiang Shao La (means roasted meat). The boss and the lady boss have sold the real roasted chicken and barbecued pork for more than ten years, as their daughter becomes vegetarian and keep encouraging them for the past four years, finally her wish comes true, they transform the real roasted meat stall into a fully vegan stall since end of February 2021 after Chap Goh Mei, both of them are currently on their path to become vegetarian too.
Read moreI purposely went there for lunch today, was lucky enough to get what i wish for: Danggui soya milk sliced fish bee hoon soup, then the thick bee hoon were sold out, only rice was left. The soup base was tasty with lots of ingredients, the sliced fish fillets were tender yet crispy. I told the lady boss that the taro chunks are very fragrant, she said they use Thai taro as it's more fragrant, and changed the milk to healthier soya milk as well, i can feel and really appreciate their well intentions.
Then i took away their roasted chicken and Char Siew (barbecued pork) rice for dinner. They were really professional in their roasted meat business for the past 10-20 years, it's my first time eating such a delicious vegan roasted chicken, with very strong five spices aroma, crispy outside and tender inside, yet non-greasy. Their char siew is also not the typical vegetarian char siew that we can find elsewhere, the outer layer is almost the same as what i ate in the real roasted meat restaurant, before i became a vegetarian, when i was a child, it has intense sweet barbecue flavour. The oil rice is lightly salted and quite fragrant too. Their chilli paste is savory and spicy enough. Overall the whole feeling is quite similar to eating the real roasted meat rice, what a worthwhile trip.
The boss and the lady boss are very friendly. During the chat, the boss even drenched some extra broth of their sweet and sour sliced fish on my rice, the sweet and sour taste is quite appetizing. The boss said that their business is not very good, please come to support and encourage them, to stick and keep this vegan stall, it's really not easy for them to switch a real roasted meat stall to a fully vegan stall, and their food is really delicious too, especially the roasted chicken and char siew rice with chilli, it's a perfect match, a great delicacy in the world.

Nice food - Edit
Very nice chicken chop rice, char Siew rice and sweet & sour sliced fish rice. The rices are fragrant and soft and the ingredients are tasty. The prices are also very reasonable $3- $4.
