I went here two nights in a row and it was amazing. Only one staff member who seated, served and cooked and he was so pleasant and obviously very talented.

He even gave me some of the rice bread to try for free with my pasta, said he had baked it himself and it was crispy and light.

Not that many vegan options in Gyeongju-si, but Yella would thrive anywhere. Went three times and loved them all! The star is really the curry, which has everything, from vegan chicken to mushrooms, green beans and rice. Also, try the homemade rice bread. It's really good! On top of it all, the gentleman that runs the place is very friendly.

A saver in Gyeongju - Edit
We went to this restaurant twice during our mini visit to the city. The first time we ordered the curry (japanese style) and the sandwich with fries - the curry was better than we expected and the sandwich was what we were expecting. The second time we went was as a plan B, because we wanted to try El Rato, but it was closed that day. However, we really enjoyed the meal, maybe more than the first time. This time we had the tacos and the pasta and we liked both a lot.

This is one of the rare vegan places in Gyeongju and I wish the owner a lot of success.

Praise the lords. It must be Buddha’s birthday or something, but I finally have some food in my stomach. And it’s good food. I could cry. But seriously awesome - mostly western tacos, sandwiches but also a Japanese curry and a bulgogi salad bowl.

Credit where credit is due: it must be hard to be an all-vegan restaurant in Gyeongju, which is not vegan friendly. The proprietor is a cool guy who cares about spreading veganism through tasty food. The menu is tiny and Western, but I was able to try a Japanese-style curry that was very nice. I liked it and would recommend it, but I wish it had a bigger menu with a wider range of options, including some Korean dishes.

So pleased to find it in Gyeongju where there aren't that many veggie/vegan options. I had the salad and it was excellent! Very reasonably priced too and nice service. It's a small place with a fairly small menu but was just perfect for what I needed.

We're not lucky in this country with HappyCow. So far, 6 restaurants we tried, 3 of them we couldn't get in. In this case was they don't have ingredients, another one in Seoul didn't exist anymore, and another one in this city we get and they kick us out.... (see my review if interested)

Grateful for a vegan spot in Gyeong-ju - Edit
Friendly staff/owners, the food is excellent! It’s a little bit of US diner-Korean fusion but so yummy. The person who I believe is the owner said he makes the bread for the sandwiches himself from rice flour (I think). It was very fluffy and tasty so he knows what he’s doing! Totally worth it and not a bad price either. I hope they get enough support to stay open!!

Good vegan food in a 70s style diner - Edit
A new place that only opened in November 2023 in the main shopping district. Owned by a really nice guy who speaks english and loves to practice. The restaurant is in the style of the diner and also has great music. All the food is vegan and they have a good selection including curry, burger, salad and tacos. I had a chicken and a vegetable ball taco and both were tasty and filling.
