Was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options here! Seperate vegan menu with lots of variety and GF options. Underground Japanese bar atmosphere. Slightly on the expensive end, but well worth a visit.

Love coming here, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff are great. Has a seperate vegan menu and they’re happy to adapt anything. Bit expensive but worth it for a treat.

Delicious restaurant for a special occasion - Edit
Yatai is a beautiful restaurant with fun and friendly staff- perfect for a special occasion! My husband and I visited for our anniversary and had a very special evening. The food is fresh and delicious and a separate vegan menu with a number of options is provided. I'd highly recommend the miso-glazed eggplant!

Best restaurant in Palmerston North - Edit
Hands down the best restaurant in the city. Traditional Japanese pub style food, with a dedicated vegan menu. Attentive service, delicious food, great atmosphere, extensive vegan and vegetarian options. Parties of four or more can request a banquet, and the kitchen will send out multiple small dishes. They're happy to do this for an all vegan party, or a single vegan in a mixed dining group. Expensive, but totally worth it.
