Fully vegan, Seitan, Tofu, etc.!

Don't worry about the sign saying vegetarian, it is fully vegan. Had proper protein options at good prices, great flavours, quick, and plenty of choice (ordered something different all 4 nights I was here).

Pros: Protein options, Price of mains ($58 HKD ATM), Speed

Cons: Pay right after ordering, Rice is pretty expensive ($9 HKD ATM)

Best food I had so far during this vacation!

Stayed on Hong Kong island for a few days, then travelled to mainland China, then came back to Hong Kong. My food experience so far: eating vegan was difficult, and if you found a place, it was usually expensive. But the Yat Sum surprised me in every way! A completely vegan menu with protein filled, creative dishes, which are not only tasty, but also pretty cheap! Will definitely come again next time that I am in Hong Kong ❤️

Pros: Variety of dishes, Not only carbs, but lots of protein, Very friendly

Tasty local food

I got the meal set - lemon beancurd and veggies with soup and rice and it was very filling! Very tasty, reasonable prices (for HK) and in a central area. You can pay with a credit card (2 dollars extra charge) and owners were friendly and spoke English!
It'd be great to come with company so you can share and taste different dishes.

🍪After your meal you can go to the nearby M&S for a vegan cookie

Really good food

The restaurant has a lot of really tasty vegan foods tasting almost the same as meat (with a few little differences in texture). I have been to the restaurant about 3 times already and I really enjoy the BBQ pork on the chef recommendations menu (number 17 on the card).

Pros: Like I mentioned it has really tasty vegan meats., The restaurant staff is really friendly.

Cons: It is kind of difficult to find the restaurant., The pictures on the menu are don't look great.

Great food & atmosphere

We came here for lunch around 12-12:30. We were one of the first ones there, and the owner took her time to give recommendations and explain menu items etc. We ordered the 'chef recommendation' deep-fried BBQ pork lemon beancurd sheets with seasonal veg (Pak choy) rice soup (68 HKD) and the braised eggplants and long green beans with rice soup (45 HKD). Payment is taken in advance. The soup came out immediately and the mains came out before we'd even finished the soup. All very yummy and so many other good options on the menu too!

Really tasty vegan restaurant 😎

A bit hidden, the entrance is close to the "International" green sign, then second floor through elevator.

Managed by very kind people, speaking English (also English menu), accepting cards. "Family" restaurant ☺️

They use the term vegan even on the menu.

Slightly more upmarket Yat Sum Vegetarian

This Yat Sum Vegetarian in Tsim Sha Tsui has the same branding as the Yat Sum Vegetarian in Ya Ma Tei, but this one seems to have more spacious seating, cleaner interior, slightly more options on the menu, and also accepts credit card. The prices are slightly higher, but overall the food is still much cheaper compared to most restaurants in Hong Kong. In other words, the Yat Sum Vegetarian in TST is slightly more upmarket compared to the Ya Ma Tei one.

Pros: All vegan, Good value for money

Great little gem

Super friendly staff
Went here twice on our Hongkong trip
Cheap food
Highly recommend Nr 4 - very nice fried duck/chicken (53 for whole meal or as set with rice and soup 63$ as far as I know)
Little salt and pepper puffs as side are great too
Own chili sauce and tea and water
Didn’t like nr 1
Also had the lemon duck/chicken and number 2 with asparagus and cashews which was a tasty light meal

Pros: Affordable , Light and delicious , Friendly

Cons: Nr 1

Great place

Amazing food and best price per ware. I would come again anytime.

Be sure to remember that it's on the second floor as the elevator does not have a listing of what is on which floor.

I went there again for lunch the other day. In comparison I'd rather recommend the regular menu instead of the "fast" dishes as the latter that we tried are a bit more on the dry side.

Super friendly staff and delicious food

Had a super nice dinner at this restaurant fully vegan and super friendly stuff. They even suggested me to take a different plate which had more variation and more different flavours. Really appreciate it. I’ll definitely come back to this place while I’m staying here in Hong Kong.

saved our 16 hour layover

Service: ?/5, Quality: 4/5, Value: 5/5
Vegan Options: 5/5

Service - We orded takeaway (unrated)

Quality - This is a hard one for me to rate since it is what I'm guessing the most authentic chinese food I've ever had and I didn't really know what I'd like. I ordered the Fried Crispy Noodle with Mixed Vegetables (Fried Rice #5) and this was a bit of a miss for me. The crispy noodles lived up to their name but were pretty flavorless. The mixed vegetables were good but half of it was mushrrooms (4 variety) and I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms. That caught me a bit off guard from the picture in the menu which didn't show so many mushrooms. My SO ordered some other things which were very tasty and wonderful though. I think one of them was the deep-fried beancurd sheet (main dish #5), and then the other thing might've been the Lotus root and wheat gluten in sweet and sour sauce with rice (fast meal #E). I loved those and wish I would've gotten them myself!!

Value - Affordable food, and good portion sizes

Vegan Options - All vegan, as all things should be.

Additional notes: look for building 65-69. There was a Yat Sum sign outside of it when we visited (see picture). Inside the lobby, go up the elevator and turn left.

We had a 16 hour layover and were able to visit the peak and then this restaurant was a short walk from our friend's unit we stayed at overnight. Very grateful for this restaurant since vegan options at the airport are nonexistent at the moment.

Pros: good portion sizes

Cons: mixed vegetables a bit too heavy on mushrooms

Do not miss!!

An essential to your Hong Kong Visit. Lots of variety of authentic HK cooking at an incredibly affordable price with pleasantly large portions. This place was my staple big affordable daily meal as I was generally able to get two meals out of my order. It has an even cheaper quick meal menu. Not super fancy but the food is delicious, good quality and well priced and the people who work and run it are very friendly!

Good value selection

It’s cheap and cheerful. There are specials in Chinese on the walls and if you ask you can get the English version given to you. There are a wide variety of dishes so I enjoyed trying a selection. The base flavours are quite similar but they were to my taste so I enjoyed it! I recommend the bbq pork and gluten duck, delicious. Beware of the air conditioning drips onto your food… but other than that a great meal!

It is very reasonable. But, the taste is just okay, there are no napkins and the place itself is not very cozy. But, all is vegan 👏🏻

Petit restaurant au top

Petit restaurant local à Hong Kong. Pas trop cher. Le dimanche le thé est offert. On a bien mangé.
