Great place to have lunch! - Edit

We had dinner and lunch at Yasam Kafe several times during our stay in Izmir. We loved it! We particularly enjoyed the vegan iskander and pudding. Everything was delicious and staff was very nice and friendly.

VegMacun's Delicious - Edit

I've tried the toast with almond cheese, flatbread with soy meat called 'VegMacun', and a traditional pastry with potato called 'Patila'. I liked the taste of 'VegMacun'.

Nice Place with Decent Food - Edit

We ate here several times during our stay in İzmir and we really enjoyed the food. They have a good selection on the menu including vegan cheese, seitan products and desserts. The seitan wrap and chocolates are amazing.

The only thing that tainted the experience was that one time when we were there, I’d asked for no walnuts on my food (due to an allergy) multiple times, and although the guy that served us nodded when I asked, it still came with walnuts and there turned out to be walnuts in the cheese (luckily I’m not stupidly allergic and I was only a bit ill). I realise he just didn’t understand and I’m not trying to critique them for not speaking English as we’re not in an English speaking country, and the other ladies spoke English. My only issue was that he didn’t let me know that he didn’t understand, and so I ended up eating something I was allergic to. Don’t let it detract you from eating here, it didn’t us, but if you have an allergy just be sure to check that your requirements have been understood and note that it doesn’t specify on the menu that the cheese has nuts in.

Wow! - Edit

To be honest, after living in Germany for 3 years I didn't expect sucha good vegan food in Izmir, in this not-so-fancy cafe.

It's a cute cafe in Alsancak area, which offers lots of veganized Turkish food and some drinks.

I tried vegan İskender and drank home made red wine, which was strong but delish! Iskender was made of the best seitan, I've ever tried. There was a spicy sauce and a perfect veganized yoghurd for Iskender. It was spicy, may be a bit too fatty, but extremly tasty.

They also sell some vegan products and price value is perfect.

Pros: serves local wine, Friendly Staff, Free Wifi

Happiness on a plate - Edit

We found Izmir's only vegan cafe right around the corner from our hostel on the very day that we were craving cake. On our first visit we ended up ordering most of the menu and came back to eat here for the next three days. We even ordered food to take away with us to eat on our flight the next day.
The food here is amazing and really well priced and I would personally plan another trip to Turkey just to come back here.
This rates as one of my favourite vegan cafes EVER!

Most lovely place for vegan food in Turkey - Edit

We were lucky to find this place by chance when we were looking for our hotel through the tiny streets of Alsancak. This café successfully revisits Turkish specialities and make really tasty vegan snacks. We had excellent falafel, vegmacun (equivalent of lahmacun), home made almond cheese toasts (equivalent of cheese gözleme), vegburger...In our three visits we have tasted all their options and all were great !! Try the breakfast !
The couple running the place is really nice and friendly.
My 8-years old son really enjoyed the food !
