Didn't feel like a gimmick or health food or someone slapping a tofu dish on the menu. Fried plantains in a bun, perfectly seasoned and dressed. So satisfying.
The food was delicious. The plantains were perfectly cooked. I wish there was more tofu in the jerk tofu, mainly rice, vegetables, and beans. The worker was very sweet. Don't forget to get a Jamaican patty!
Although meat is a big part of the Yardie Ting menu they do have some tasty vegan/vegetarian options. They offer jerk tofu in tacos, burritos, and plates, which come with fresh and flavorful salsas and chutneys. I had the jerk tofu tacos, which were delicious. Three crispy corn tacos filled with jerk tofu, black beans, crispy fresh slaw, and a pineapple salsa. They had a great balance of spicy, crunchy, sweet, and tangy flavors. My wife had the jerk tofu burrito with rice & beans, plantains, and mango chutney. Equally tasty. The French fries were good as well for those who appreciate them. Yardie Ting is on the second floor of the Public Market House, which is a very interesting space. There are several other restaurants with vegan options there, and some tables to eat on site.
Small Jamaican Restaurant with yummy vegan options - Edit
I ordered the jerk tofu with rice and beans, plantains, and steamed veg. The meal was delicious. The price was a little steep for the portion size, but it was worth it. There is also a vegan curry and all sides except the mac and cheese are vegan.

Love the flavors. Good island food for middle price in this nice little food market. I left my meal both quite full and satisfied.
