Amazing experience

Hidden on a hill with beautiful forest, this vegetarian restaurant really is a gem. From the pretty interior to the delicious food made from local ingredients! A lot of the dishes are actually vegan too. You can dine with a great view of the ocean. They also have a garden where they harvest some of there vegetables

Pros: Delicious food , Amazing view , Friendly staff

Must visit

Very few places transport you to a place of calm and peace like this. Must be able to climb lots of steps to reach them.

Go for the view. Stay for the food.

Great food, even better view

Even without the food, the location itself is worth a visit. The restaurant sits on a rock, has a beautiful wood interior with the rock literally making up one side of the building. They exhibit paintings, and there is a great view over the lush green forest and the shore.
Before or after eating, one should explore the path leading up the hill. There are signs explaining the history of the natural garden, how it was originally created in the old days, then forgotten, and rediscovered. On the top, one gets another great view over the shore.

They have various set menus that are limited to seven, 15, etc. portions / day. One needs to get there early in order to get one of those. The same is true if you want one of the seats upstairs with the better view over the shore. Please note: Upstair seats mean sitting on tatami mats. If you struggle with sitting "on the ground", opt for the ground floor seats at the tables. You'll still have a good view, just not facing the ocean directly, and a bit obscured by the vegetation.

Taste-wise: expect less intense flavours, though even though I like strong flavours, everything was excellent, and one could tell the great attention for detail and the effort to use local, organic ingredients.
I had the "Special Lunch Plate "Sachibaru no NIwa Gozen" (only 7/day) for 3,500 Yen, including:
. Fermented brown rice
. Soy soup
. Kubuirichi(Stir-fried kelp)
. Jimami(Peanut) Tofu
. Vinegared Mozuku Seawee
. Pickles
. Salad
. Popo (Okinawan crepe)
. Umukuji andagi (Yam Kudzu Tempura)
. Seasonal Fruits
. Fruit juice (May choose from Shikuwasa( lime lemon ), Pineapple, Guava).
. Beverage (May choose from Herb tea, Black tea, Coffee. ( hot / ice))

The menu contains a cake with eggs, which can be replaced with a vegan desert. Though while they stressed that the chocolate tarte was vegan, I believe the cream it came with wasn't.

Great food, breathtaking view

We ordered three different lunch sets. Two noodle sets were vegan and one rice set was easily veganized. The restaurant sits on a hill and is only accessible by 100 or so steps. The view of the ocean and surrounding forest was sublime.

INCREDIBLE

this restaurant is such a gem! It’s in the middle of nature (you need to claim some stairs but it’s totally worth it!) it’s a small menu with a teishoku and few pizzas and extra. I tried their special and it was absolutely delicious! Loved it and the place has such a beautiful view and vibe! Super recommend it!

Pros: View, Food, Beauty

Cons: Hard to get without car (no busses around)

Love this place!

Lunch café with a beautiful view of the sea. Staff were very kind and they sell some nice stuff downstairs. The soba and the rice plate are better options than the pizza for vegans. I would recommend coming here on a sunny day and definitely also take a walk up from the cafe to a scenic point higher up on the hill.

Good soba and salad

Lovely big wooden building. Great view of the sea. Kinda strange art from a local artist on display.

Many choices on the menu. Soba was really nice.

Want to go back and try their pizza next time.

Pros: Really great view

Cons: Staff were kinda rude., A bit hard to find
