Fantastic authentic izakaya - Edit
If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese izakaya where you can get a few vegan dishes this is a great choice. It’s at a junction in a pedestrianised part of Ueno with tiny tables and great people watching. We had the leek yakitori, the pickled cucumber (great with beer), and the deep fried tofu. We were the only westerners there, they have an English menu and the staff are friendly. Note: I doubt everything’s cooked separately etc - this is not a vegan place per se- but if you can ignore that, this is a great choice .

Not that many vegan options but everything was tasty. Especially with non vegan friends this place is a nice izakaya experience in busy area of Ueno! Great service.
