Best vegan roast

Best vegan roast dinner I've had, super tasty, all fresh and delicious.

Well-run Pub; Pretty Good for Vegans!

Y Bryncynan is a Robinsons pub based beside a roundabout of the A497. The pub is very family friendly with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a play park for kids in addition to a large car park.

I popped by as they opened at 12 pm, and received an extremely warm welcome by the excellent team working here. Y Bryncynan has plant milks for hot drinks, in addition to the standard mix of soft and alcoholic drinks you'd find in a Robinsons pub. The vegan options of the food menus are labelled, and there was a decent amount of vegan dishes available. The kids' menu had vegan options, such as a Hash Browns starter and a Quorn Nuggets Meal, but the lunch menu (which consisted of a mix of sandwiches) did not include a single vegan option. The mains menu had more choices for vegans, ranging from nibbles such as Artisanal Bread & Oil and Hummus to a range of vegan sides and a Handmade Vegan Sausage Roll as a starter. Disappointingly, there was only one vegan starter and dessert, a Caramelised Biscuit Cheesecake, but there were a few vegan mains. These options included Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Moving Mountains® Burger, Sweet Chilli Quorn Dippers Loaded Fried, and a Panzanella Salad.

I had an Oat Flat White, Sweet Chilli Quorn Dippers Loaded Fries, Side Salad and a Caramelised Biscuit Cheesecake. The coffee wasn't the best, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The food was well presented, and the loaded fries were a massive portion that had a great kick to it. I find the vegan cheesecakes in pubs can be hit and miss, but this one was particularly nice.

The food and service at Y Bryncynan are great, and its central location on Pen Llŷn makes it a great stop for vegans struggling to find some vegan grub. However, I feel they could go even further in how they accommodate vegans by adding more vegan options to all their menus. I recommend that vegans who are planning to eat here check out the up to date menu on their website where there is an option to filter the vegan options.
