Herbal noodle soup

...had visited their previous location at Paya Lebar Square basement before heading to their relocated stall at next door, PLQ, level 4. Try out this new item on menu. Queue is fairly quick as lunch time is at near-end. Staff asks if I want Cauliflower instead of Spinach & I agree. Big bowl of U-mian with strips of bean-skin, Cauliflowers, mock fish cake & mock meat. The soup is not too overpowering & no feeling of ‘dry-ness’ of mouth after eating or upon reaching home. A nice & cool environment but prepare for a long queue during lunch time.

Pros: Nice options on menu, Nice ambience , Located next to a MRT station

Delicious noodle and rice

I tried it when they first opened in PLSquare. I prefer if they use natural tofu instead of veg fish cake tofu which tastes somewhat artificial with additives. Thinking their Dry Ban Mian noodle with green pesto-like sauce was the best, until I tried their steam veg chicken rice! It looked and tasted simple, but I kept thinking about it and went for it again and again. The rice is superb, fragrant, perfect moist ratio and is not oily. I can eat this rice daily. I chose steam chicken as theirs is very different from all the vegetarian stalls across Singapore. It's served in nice textured, thick pieces of Soya that's made with soft layers of thin soya sheets and not fried. The only down side is they don't always have the ingredients to sell this dish, so it's always out of stock. The chilli sauce accompanying the chicken rice is a punch, with fresh lime taste and thick consistency, unlike those watery ones. Portion is great for a full meal. Feels gratifying upon finishing.

Pros: Hot soup esp for cold rainy days, Generous Lots of spinach, Chilli is a punch

Cons: Long waiting time

Super popular veg stall in Kopitiam

This stall is crazy popular. Waiting times during lunch is abt 10-20min, but it's so worth it! The veggie u-mian (dry) is better than any regular meat version I've ever had. The veggie bak kut teh noodles also pack a punch. All of their soups are generously filled with spinach. I really wish they had more outlets islandwide!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Lots of local delights

Cons: Long wait time for food court

Hearty comfort food

The tom yam ban mian was pleaant, without overwhelming heat or sour taste. Broccoli (which I prefer) has replaced local spinach currently. Staff were friendly and packed the soup separately from the noodles (added a touch of sesame oil..?) which was fragrant. Portion was hearty and satisfying as comfort food.

Can keep eating!

I work nearby PLQ mall and Xuan Miao is the most cheapest and nearest option for me, have ate it numerous times since July 2021 and it’s still good. About 1-2 weeks ago they included a Leicha version. Very yummy and even healthier although slightly more expensive 🙈

They always give a lot of soup & veg. Ask for lesser to prevent wastage of food:) And if ordering rice, can opt for half bowl as well (cheaper).

Pros: Good for rainy weather, Value for money

Cons: Mainly ban mian and similar choices, Not so much rice options

For the price, still the most fresh leafy veggies you can get for a vegan eatery

Hard to find vegetarian places to eat at with lots of fresh green leafy vegetables, the lockdowns have claimed its previous stall at Sengkang, travelled all the way here to eat, and it’s worth it. 👍

Ban mian

Updated: price increase, Portion reduced, nice yummy ingredients omitted. No longer the best

I am glad to see this in paya lebar square where greendot was the monopoly. With this stall around, i can have nice food at reasonable pricing. Their ban mian dry is the best. Do remember to request for garlic oil if u take garlic. They are fully vegan

Pros: Nice vegan food , Reasonable prices , Good value

Love the soupy foodie!

We love Xuan Miao Vegan Ban Mian Dry and Tom Yum Bee Hoon Soup! $6.50 each. Foodie are alliums free if you do not add the chilli oil. Love the generous portion of veges and big big bowl of soup. Definitely will go back again...!

Using kopitiam card to pay, get 10% off i think (not sure if different kopitiam card has different % off not)! This shop is now located in Kopitiam @payalebarquarter. (Earlier located elsewhere)

Pros: Affordable, Delicious and comforting soup, Generous portion

No more Ikan billis

Have been supporting them since circuit road days... amazing comfort food that’s satisfying to both the stomach and the soul. A pity that they stopped serving ikan billis and the compressed braised taukwa. Can ask for garlic chilli oil for dry noodles. Chicken rice so so only

Pros: Portion of soup and spinach is big, Tom yam flavour available , Can add more noodles at a price

Cons: Expensive , Chillli oil contains garlic, Long waiting time

Cravings for dried ban mian satisfied here

Order their signature dried noodles with the spinach soup! The dried noodles is so delicious and I still wonder what’s it like when they previously served them with vegan ikan billis. Worth trying when you’re in the area.

Pros: All vegan, Can choose noodle type, Friendly staff

Cons: Food court can be crowded at lunch/dinner time

Delicious!

Fantastic noodle shop at paya lebar. Lots of different options and they're all delicious. My favourite is the dry ban mian. $5-6 per bowl delivered awkwardly hot -- but always good once it cools down.

Amazing taste + generous portion

Had the dry u-mian [$6.50]. While the price is slightly expensive for a food court, the quality is also better than the typical food court food. The sauce was really delicious and the portion was very generous as well.

Halal Noodle Shop

This is my favourite halal vegan noodle shop in Singapore! My favourite is the Dry U-Mian Noodles with soup plus an extra serving of u-mian and spinach. The Beehoon Tomyam Noodle bowl is pretty good too. If you come here during peak periods (lunch/dinner), be prepared to wait.

Pros: Halal, Affordable, Generous portions

Cons: Long waiting time during peak periods

great soup and dumplings

I didn’t understand why the queue is always so agonisingly Long, but after trying i was immediately converted - went back daily for the next half a week because I can’t get enough of the comforting and flavourful dumpling soup with generous spinach and qq tofu chunks. Definitely a must go if you are in that area!!

Pros: comfort food, flavourful

Cons: queue

Best Ban Mian at Paya Lebar

I can never get sick of eating their Ban Mian, U Mian and Mee Hoon Kuay. Easily one of my most preferred option when I am in the vicinity of Paya Lebar.

Pros: Best Ban Mian, Affordable Price
