Not that vegan-friendly - Edit
Typical Taiwanese brunch offerings: toast, burgers, noodles, savory pancakes, sandwiches, fried rice, fried noodles, and steamed buns. Not very many can be made vegan: most are ovo- or lacto-vegetarian (or both). I asked the chef to tell me which choices are vegan or can be vegan by omission, and I marked up a menu with a red line on the left side of the ones he said could be. (See photo of menu.)
Read moreOut of the very limited options, I ended up getting the roasted seaweed and corn pancake (紫菜玉米煎餅) and a small, cold black sesame milk with oats (黑芝麻燕麥). There are condiments at the entrance, and I squeezed a generous ring of hot sauce on my pancake for additional flavoring. Despite looking a bit small, I was filled up after eating and drinking both of them. Not what I’d consider a must-visit place, but it did the job.
Pros: fast service, friendly staff
Cons: disposable utensils, cups & straws for dine-in, skimpy vegan options, limited seating
