Peaceful restaurant with a welcoming setting and staff - we chose 4 dishes between three people and enjoyed everything esp the Peking 'duck' v fresh and v friendly food in beautiful hutong setting - it's just off a road which means it's pretty quiet which was just what we wanted

Really tasty good in a friendly and comfortable environment. Super friendly staff. They don't speak English, but communicating was easy because of the attention the staff gives.

I think there must have been a communication breakdown for the previous reviewer, not uncommon in China! We ate here tonight and they do not serve meat. My husband speaks Chinese and he verified with the staff, nothing on the menu contains meat. They do fake meats that they call beef-style, etc. The food was delicious and the setting is beautiful, we will go back. We asked the staff what they would recommend and we ended up with 4 plates and a specialty tea drink, the bill was ¥250 and more than enough for the two of us. A little pricey, but well worth it.

I went here today for lunch. It is no longer vegetarian. The first thing they offered me was beef- apparently it's one of their top menu items. The owner speaks some English, so I tried to explain to her that I wanted just vegetables- she brought me tofu and mushroom soup, with a side of rice. It was very good- I can't be sure that it was vegetarian/vegan though.

This a secret, quiet place. They are not used to foreigners, so please respect the atmosphere. I had some good food and then read a book in peace in the comfortable couch.
Some directions to find it: When you go out of exit C (south-east) of Fuxingmen subway station, take the small road on your right and then turn left. After a while you'll have Starbuck on your left and a public toilet on the right hand side of the street. Take the small street on the left of the toilets; you'll aready see the door of the restaurant.
