Very Disappointed

We had read some great reviews on here about the Wurst Downtown location and were excited to enjoy lunch there when we were in Fargo this past weekend.
We knew to ask for a vegan menu based on past reviews.
The waitress seemed very put upon right from the start.
She managed to find an old vegan menu they still had kicking around but informed us they were phasing away from their vegan options. It was my understanding that they are planning on eliminating all vegan options from their menu in the near future.
On our visit, they still had the Beyond Italian Sausage and the Impossible burger, but their buns were no longer vegan. They did have the vegan pretzel and a couple of the vegan dips but again, we were told several times they were "phasing out the vegan menu".
While we did have an OK lunch today, I suspect the vegan options will be severely limited going forward. Maybe call ahead to see if they still have anything before you go?
Unfortunately, I wasn't super impressed with the vegan options available on my visit, nor with the service. 😪

Pros: Crispy Fries, Tasty Vegan Pretzel

Cons: Limited vegan options, Poor service

Good Choice!

My husband and I went here for lunch and I'm so glad we did. They have a vegan menu available (ask for it), from which I ordered the Beyond sausage on a bun with all the toppings. So yum! They even had curry ketchup as a dipper for fries. My non-vegan husband had curry wurst which he also enjoyed. Good selection of German and local beers and friendly, attentive service. Hope to go back next time we're in Fargo.

Pros: Vegan menu, Good french fries

The Best Soft Pretzels

The vegan soft pretzel is the “buttery-ist” soft pretzel I’ve had since becoming vegan. I cannot recommend it enough. It’s the perfect bar food to accompany a good brew, of which they have many.

They were out of vegan bread when I went, so I couldn’t try their signature Vegan Fargo. But the normal burger buns are vegan and that did not disappoint

Go to Downtown location

Only the Downtown location has a separate vegan menu. Go to that one, not the other one!

Bahn Mi is delicious

The Wursthaus made me feel welcome by offering a Bahn Mi on fresh baguette, marinated veggies and Field Roast sausage. I also had tasty skinny (skinny in shape, not calories) fries. They even had a nonalcoholic St Pauli Girl beer to double my enjoyment.

Great downtown option

I've been here three, got the bahn mi with chipotle field roast sausage, and their vegan pretzels a few others I can't remember. Their vegan menu is larger than most locations around here and is always good. (No idea what they've got post covid.)

Pros: Dedicated vegan menu, Reasonably priced, Good location

Cons: Can't order online through their website

Great downtown eats

This restaurant is really tasty and delicious. I got the pretzels with garlic dipping sauce and then a vegan Bahn mi. I was looking forward to a vegan menu but they said they reduced their options for Covid. Idk if the vegan menu will come back , but I loved it. My Omni family loved it too.

Pros: Helpful staff

In the heart of Fargo

We ate lunch here on a road trip from Texas. My daughter ordered Banh Mi and I got the Field Burger. We shared them. Both were excellent.

Pros: A unique vegan menu , A vegan employee who knew what we needed, Great flavors

Cons: Had to eat in the windy outdoors due to COVID , The Tap beers weren’t available (COVID)

Great Experience

Wurst is such a great place to go and have a beer and some German/American comfort food. They just recently added the vegan menu, so it does serve meat as well. Since the vegan menu is a new thing (and seems to be doing well) the establishment seems open to input from the public. Last time I went they had removed the cauliflower sandwich, but a server said they think it may be back up eventually since it was everyone's favorite. Good food, good beer, great staff, and clearly hip to the ever expanding vegan demand.
