Lovely vegetarian and vegan cafe. Very small menu but tasty smoked cheese toastie, falafel and great cakes went down well. Small inside seating area, but large tent in the beutiful grounds amd many picnic tables. Lots of space for children to explore - my son found many toads to admire!
This is local to me and I have visited several times. The vegan food choice has become more limited over time and the last time nothing was available. Peaceful surroundings and drinks available but if you want food it's probably worth phoning first to check.
There was only soup, bread and rocky road that was suitable for vegans. Disappointing but at least there was something. Would be good if they did a vegan panini.
Very friendly staff. Lovely place in amazing grounds. Had a tasty vegan soup and they even had Vitalite for the bread which is vegan. Would really recommend this hidden gem.
A great little cafe set in the peaceful rural surroundings of the Madhyamaka Buddhist Centre. Run entirely by volunteers.
Reasonable range of light snacks on offer. 100% vegetarian with some vegan choices. Some home baked vegan cakes available when volunteers are available to bake them.
Cosy log fire during the winter.
I've eaten here a few times now. The range of vegan foods is not as wide as I would like (there are no vegan cakes for example), but there is always at least a baked potato with hummous or a hummous wrap. Last week the veggie chilli was also vegan (although the garlic bread that it came with was not). The coffee is good and vegan chocolate bars (not homemade ones unfortunately!) are on sale.
The cafe is popular and often busy but I've always been able to get a seat, often by the warm stove.

Wonderful surroundings. Lovely walk around the lake. Can’t rely on cafe to have any vegan options left. However, if there is food it is nice.

A previous review said there was no vegan panini, so either they listened or the menu rotates (it's on blackboards).
Pros: Very fair price, Peaceful area, Bflies & wasps feeding on windfall plums - photo!
Cons: Wasps outside!
