Delicious, friendly, comfortable

We found World Peace Cafe on Happy Cow, particularly tempted in by the coconut lentil soup mentioned in the reviews. The soup today was not that one, but a super delicious mushroom puree. Along with the soup, we each had toasties which were also really tasty. Add in a very friendly staff and a quiet, calm environment and you have the settings for a wonderful lunch.

Pros: Delicious homemade food, Quiet, Friendly

Cons: Menu selection is not huge but that worked for us, Google Maps leads you to wrong location

Great find

Set inside a Buddhist meditation centre in Hove. Had a great lunch of soup of the day (vegan, lentil and coconut), plus toastie (vegan, roasted veggies and hummus), for just £5.50. Recommend it.

Pros: Relaxing and quiet place. Inexpensive. Free car pa

A world of peace close to Bustling Brighton

This cafe and lovely gardens are an oasis of loveliness in the hustle of busy Brighton & Hove. The venue and the people who attentively volunteer to serve the public combine to offer a true get away where you can take some time out over carefully made vegetarian food either with friends or own your own. Its a popular venue for lunches and meditation given the cafe is within the Bodhisattva Meditation Centre.

Its fine if you just want to sample a delicious quiche or nut roast but you'll also get to enjoy the gardens and chilled out atmosphere as many of the volunteers are practising buddhists and the other people you meet have probably been going to one of the drop in classes :)

Pros: Friendly staff, Value for money, Simple, tasty food. ( esp quiches & salads)

Cons: Check website as hours vary when no classes
