World Peace Cafes are grassroots developments initiated by Kadampa Buddhist communities - this one opened in 2014. Very small place that's open part-time only, offering usually one meal a day scheduled around meditation sessions. Open Wed 12:30pm-1:30pm, Thu 6:00pm-7:00pm, Fri 12:30pm-1:30pm, Sun 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Wonderful experience - Edit
First of all, it was the first restaurant experience in over a year. COVID is still here but they have six big tables outside. We had the open face portobello sandwich with salad and the crab less cakes with mashed potatoes.

This is a primarily vegetarian restaurant but everything can be made vegan too.
Great vibe. Great food.

The exterior of this peaceful Buddhist temple is beautiful and attractive as it is hidden off Northern Parkway. I visited for Sunday Brunch. The mission of the cafe brunch is to primarily serve after a service. Limited selection was available, as I had some homemade waffles made with potatoes and sweet potatoes and topped with vegan butter. Also had some homemade pancakes. A wide selection of teas was available.

Food: 7. I had vegan pancakes with cherry topping, carrot soup with salad and bread, and a beet berry smoothie. it was all pretty good, but the soup was my favorite.
Read morePrices: 8. Entrees ranged around $6-7 and were good portions.
Atmosphere: 7. Cute and cozy. My only complaint is that there were a bunch of kids being loud, which felt the opposite of it being in a meditation space and Buddhist temple.
Staff: 9. Very friendly and helpful.
Service was slowish due to it being a very low key kinda cafe. Despite the website and sign outside saying they open at 11:30 on Sundays, they weren't ready til 11:45 ish.
Pros: lots of vegan options, healthy options, good prices and portions
