Serves meat, vegan options available. A unique concept restaurant. Vegan empanadas include quinoa & lentils, pinto bean & rice and sometimes a daily special such as a soy chorizo empanada. Also has a vegan tortilla soup. Mild, medium, and spicy salsas are offered. The owner/manager is friendly and the space is quaint with a few tables and chairs outside as well. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-7:00pm.

Got three of their vegan empanadas: soy chorizo, mushroom & cashew cheese, and mixed berry. All were absolutely amazing. I’ll definitely use them for catering parties.

I just had two vegan empanadas at this place, the mushrooms with cashew cheese and the soyrizo one, you can also ask for chimichurri sauce, that was really good, or salsa. I’m very surprise how good it was!

Best empanadas in LA - Edit
I love this place so much. The mushroom cashew cheese empanada is MY FAVORITE. Quinoa lentil, pinto red bean are also delightful. The mixed Berry dessert one is like warm berry pie. I just love it here and Chris (one of the owners is the best!)

A FIND FOR VEGANS !! - Edit
This little tiny restaurant is a jewel! Homemade empanadas made right before your eyes. So fresh so delicious. Being vegan I sometimes crave zest and spiciness and this place satisfies. Don’t overlook the dipping sauces—u help yourself.

Delicious!! - Edit
These empanadas are so toasty and flavorful and filling! I tried the soy chorizo, the pinto beans and rice, and the mixed berry, and the savory ones in particular were ridiculously good. (The mixed berry one was kinda like eating 1/4 cup of jam inside a crust...good if you're in the right mood, but not something I'd want all the time.) My friend enjoyed his three meaty empanadas as well (not sure what kind). We both thought two empanadas felt like a filling meal, and for a very reasonable price. Good thing I don't live closer or I'd eat these every day.

Delicious Vegan Options - Edit
Wife and I just ate here for the first time and it was amazing. We got one of each vegan empanadas (3 savory/1 sweet) and loved them all. Our only problem was having to resist getting more. Definitely a great option in the area and we are excited to come back soon!

Delicious Vegan Empanadas but sloooooow service - Edit
Ohmigolly their vegan food here is sooo delicious! I've visited several times to date, but here's why I don't go there more often: sloooooow service, and I don't know why! Each time, I've had to wait at least 10 minutes to get my food after placing my order and paying. Yes, they do get busy, which is a good sign, they are popular because their food is so good! They have a lighted, heated display cabinet right in front of the register and the various choices are all labeled. After you pay, why can't they just scoop up your choices and hand them to you? Instead, you have to wait and wait and wait, and the one employee out of 5 or 6 that work there who actually grabs your order, seems preoccupied each visit with things not directly connected with bagging your goodies! so when I'm in a hurry, I don't visit. My other concern is my personal aversion to non-organic wheat, and their empanadas, which are a deep-fried wheat pastry filled with delightfully spiced fillings, are heavy on the wheat. It's been revealed that USA wheat farmers have been SOAKING non-organic wheat crops with Monsanto's Glyphosate just a day or two before harvest (because it slightly increases yield and improves harvesting) and that this is the actual cause of all the "gluten-intolerance" cases that we're hearing about so much nowadays. Folks, it's not the gluten that is causing the sour effects you're feeling, it's the glyphosate ("Round-Up") which has been proven to kill off your stomach's digestive bacteria and thus also destroys 70% of your immune system. Yes, I LOVE the taste of the empanadas at World Empanadas, but the wheat really concerns me. Combined with the slow service, and difficult parking (street only) I limit my visits. Another concern is that I can eat 4 to 6 empanadas in a single meal. At $2.95 each, they seem very reasonably priced. But when you add it up by eating 6 of them, that's more than $18 with tax and for what amounts to fast food, that's an awfully pricey lunch.
Read morePros: Owner is very concerned with vegan choices, vegan choices taste really amazing!, Just $2.95 per empanada, reasonably priced
Cons: non-organic wheat is really unhealthy, deadly, slow service, store is crowded, employees drag , parking can be difficult, street parking

Adorable Place and Great Food! - Edit
I'm so bummed I didn't know about this place sooner! The vegan options were clearly labeled and were delicious! I tried the lentil/quinoa empanada and the soy chorizo empanada (which is a special, so it's not always available), and both were yummy. They also offered a vegan mixed berry dessert empanada as a special when I was there. I'll definitely be going back, and I'm keeping it in mind for the next time I have a party or need to bring some snacks since they have take out and catering!

Tasty! - Edit
This place is quaint with friendly staff/owners and is very affordable. A great place to pick up a quick bite and eat there or take with you and enjoy. Very delicious and good for groups who have non-vegans as they have something for every taste. Hopefully the vegan population will drop by frequently for a visit so it'll promote them to expand their vegan options.
