Now serving Beyond Burger

Before visiting the area, I had read the one other review in mind. Since it is located right next to the Mammoth Site, I figured why not check them out.
The menu isn't that amazing, but does mention you can sub a "garden burger" for no extra charge and it mentions that if you are vegan vegetarian or gf to let your server know.
I ordered the "garden burger" no mayo, no cheese - vegan please. And the server said that the owners are all vegan (as the other reviewer said) and that they are trying out a new vegan patty that tastes almost like beef. Well, that is a turn off to me, but I think she was just trying to sell us on it. I asked if it is the Beyond Burger and she said "Yes!" We've had it before, so we knew what to expect, so hubby and I ordered it. Hubby got his with fries, but I opted to pay $3 for a trip to salad bar. The salad bar has all the fresh salad ingredients you'd expect, with a pasta salad and carrot/pepper salad marked vegan too. Our picky daughter was able to order for $7 steamed broch, fries, and a trip to the salad bar and included a drink and a 'accidently vegan' gummy treat. We had a great meal with their onsite microbrew. I recommend you go if you are vegan and in the area as its about your only dining out option.

Pros: friendly service, salad bar, vegan burger

Cons: limited for vegans, but its the only option around

Vegan in South Dakota?!

Passed through Hot Springs, SD on a road trip and had limited restaurant options. Ended up at Woolly's based on the Happy Cow description of having vegan items. After a brief discussion with our server, we discovered that the owners of Woolly's are vegan themselves. They pointed out several options on the menu and even offered to prepare some special dishes for us. The salad bar was loaded and had numerous prepared salads such as gazpacho, curried potatoes, and pickled asparagus to name a few. The highlight of the night was the baked potato topped with homemade vegan pesto! Thank you Woolly's for accommodating a couple of follow vegans. We look forward to returning on our next road trip!

Pros: Friendly/Knowledgeable Staff & Ownership, Vegan Chef, Nice Atmosphere

Cons: None
