Inexpensive street eats - Edit

Family run business, as basic as basic can get. Closest to street food as you can get. A local gem hidden in plain sight. Let's just say if you want to eat local (and pay local prices), this is where you should go! Food is inexpensive and simple. The two vegetarian stalls are clearly marked. The only non veg stall is the laksa stall that makes laksa traditionally (with prawn broth). However, the vegetarian stall does serve laksa sometimes as well (not on menu, just ask and ask for no eggs). I usually go for kolo mee with dunplings and a (tiny) bowl of plain soup which costs RM4.

They have a mixed rice stall with 8-10 dishes, some have eggs in them so just ask. However, the older ladies don't speak English so try to ask the younger folk. Costs RM4.50 for 3 dishes plus white rice.

They occasionally sell local kuih (finger food? Dim sum?) in the morning but they are quite expensive compared to other places and they don't taste very good (personal opinion).

However, if you're interested in eating local Sarawakian Chinese food like kolo mee (plain noodles), Heng Hua mee and laksa, I would definitely recommend this place!

Located at Padungan street. If from the lone cat statue "Si Puteh", walk on the right hand side. This shop is only half a block away from the statue. If from the four cat statue, walk on the left hand side then walk to the very end of the street (approx 15 min leisure walk). The shop is located at the last block, next to the steamed bun shop).

Pros: Extremely cheap, Simple and yummy
