Not the Best. Vegan Items Unavailable.

Wok&Go is a UK based pan-asian fast food chain. The Bangor branch offers delivery, store pick up, takeaway, and dining in. The menus are available to view on the Bangor Wok&Go website, and they are also displayed in the store on large screens. There is a separate vegan menu, and there are also vegan options across the other menu categories (such as Vegetable Spring Rolls on the sides menu and Teriyaki Fries on the street food menu).

I initially wanted to order a Vegan Thai Green Curry but was told they did not have that available. I then tried to order a Vegan Katsu Curry only to be told the same thing. The same happened again with the Vegan Hoisin Duck Box. The chef finally intervened, only to abruptly tell his colleague on the till that they only had the Vegan Sweet 'N' Sour and Tofu Hot Box available from the vegan menu. In a restaurant, this type of thing definitely should have been established beforehand, and the encounter was awkward for everyone involved. I ended up going with a Regular Vegan Sweet 'N' Sour and the Salt 'N' Pepper Tofu from the street food menu.

The food was prepared really quickly, and the portions are very generous. The flavours in the dishes were nice and the veg was lovely, although sparse, but the tofu wasn't very good. The pieces were overcooked with a chewey texture and were also incredibly salty.

I wouldn't go back here, and I can't recommend it based on my experience, but I hope any vegan who decides to give it a go have a better experience than I did!
