The jewel in the crown of Chinatown!

Wing Wah is a place thats been on my list to visit for a long time - but being a vegan right now means a lot of choice and I just didn’t get around to it until now. Boy I regret that because I’ve been missing out on this awesome restaurant for years.

They have a very extensive menu (8 pages total for vegan/veggie food!) meaning much more variety than usual. We tried the satay chicken and Yuk Sung starters, the latter was especially tasty and definitely one of those ‘takes you back in time’ dishes if you haven’t had much Chinese food as a vegan or veggie. These were followed by chicken Singapore vermicelli and mock beef with straw mushroom in oyster sauce. I don’t have much mock beef (outside of burgers) but this was a rare example of a beef worth having - it melts in your mouth.

The service was efficient though perhaps in part as it was a quieter night. They did make a mistake with our bill which was easily rectified without any fuss.

Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Birmingham, or a local who hasn’t been yet.

Pros: Extensive vegan menu, Attentive, knowledgable staff, Fantastic food

Fantastic vegan/vegetarian menu!!! A lot of meatfree options and many of them were so realistic suck as mock seafood, mock chicken, mock duck, etc. Staff helpful with choices of food for the uninitiated.

Happy to find this restaurant!

I'm glad i've found WingWahBirmingham because i am a lover of Chinese food and there aren't any other restaurants in the city that serves such a WIDE variety of vegetarian dishes. Their menu is large, compared to other restaurants ive visited and they serve mock meat dishes cooked in many styles! It's absolutely wonderful and seems very considerate to us vegetarians (or vegan if you are)

The lemon 'mock chicken' was my favorite. Hot, tender and heavy on the mock meat.On side i had the vegetarian singapore vermicelli which was full of flavor and a decent portion for 1.

The staff was pleasant and the place had nice decoration. It was a delight to dine at a fancy Chinese restaurant that offers a large menu, great for even the pickiest of vegetarians

Pros: Large Vegetarian/Vegan Menu, Delicious Dishes, Nice Decoration

Cons: Lighting bit too dark
