Cafe with oat milk for hot beverages and a range of labeled vegan snacks and pastries. Choices include vegan salmon or mushroom sandwich, chocolate croissant, and banana brioche. Open Tue-Sun 10:00-17:30.
Closed Mon.
First, something positive for parents - Wilma offers a small children‘s playing area (a little oven to play, some books, blocks etc), and nobody is pissed off because of little kids making noise.
But, and this is a huge BUT: Wilma is neither cosy, comfortable, nor does it offer a good menu. The room is large and cold, loud music makes it nearly impossible to chitchat with people sitting across from you (club atmosphere during coffee time, naaw…), the coffee is mediocre but expensive, the food in the afternoon consists of nothing but ready-made pastries, often sold out soon.
So, well, we won‘t give up on Wilma, but there‘s loads of room for improvement…
I loved the cappuccino! It had the perfect, rich flavor and pretty latte art.
The vegan Berliner/Kreppel special they had for Karneval was good, however, it tasted different to the non-vegan version I remember from childhood. For example, they had a fresher and more tart jam inside, which tasted great, just not like what I expect from a Berliner.
I’m excited to try their chocolate croissants and cinnamon/cardamom rolls!
Service was very friendly if a bit slow as they are very popular and are busy baking their pastries in a room connected to the café.
They often have events like a ping-pong night, flea market or even art events like a vernissage.
