If you miss meat... - Edit
We've had great vegan mac n cheese elsewhere (although this one was great) but the chick'n had us scratching our heads- is it or isn't it? Either in a balsamic glaze with a fabulous cobb salad or on a Nashville hot chick'n sandwich, this was as close to the real deal as you can get, but without the cruelty! we'll be back

Where was the great mac’n’cheese?!? 😃

Hi Prajna. I could not figure out how to reply to your comment on my review of Willow in NYC. Loads of vegan restaurants, and even my own kitchen have done a pretty good job of making vegan mac & cheese but TBH that's not really my thing. It's so great to go to all vegan restaurants and have unlimited choice, But I wish more of them would just do some great whole food and healthy options and not just assume I want to eat imitation, highly processed meat subs so I can pretend I'm not a vegan!😁

I totally agree!!!! I don’t even like the look of meat, so the fake mock-meat dishes really don’t appetizer me either.

Top shelf comfort food - Edit
Not surprised to learn that this came from the same brain as beyond sushi as I am a fan of both. The meal here was really delicious. Loved the Mac and cheese skillet and the burger with the Yo egg on it was awesome. The steak was really tasty too but the cookie dessert is truly unbelievable. This place does an excellent job from start to finish. I highly recommended it.

Tastes so real - Edit
Had the Wilow smash burger, never had a vegan burger that tasted so real.
Read moreThe egg tasted exactly like a real fried egg, had to check twice if the place is actually fully vegan

Awesome vegan restaurant - Edit
We ordered the Truffle Mac & Cheese, the Caesar Salad with Tofu, an Oatmilk Latte, and a Genmaicha Tea. The latte was fantastic, but the tea was just a tea bag and a cup of hot water. The food was great; I highly recommend trying the M&C.

The cheese pull 😫 - Edit
Went with a friend and we split the Mac and cheese, ravioli, and double chocolate cake. The Mac and ravioli were PHENOMENAL. Witch craft have to have been involved — this is the best vegan cheese I’ve ever had, and I’ve been around. The chocolate cake was a little lackluster compared to the rest, but still good.

Phenomenal, no compromise cuisine - Edit
Absolutely delicious food, reasonable facsimiles, and attentive hosts. The banana pudding was particularly exceptional. We also enjoyed the lobster roll, chicken on mashed potatoes (forgot the name), and clam chowder, all excellent.

Delicious but not good for GF - Edit
Lovely place, nice staff. Happy to run into it and sit down for a solo early dinner. Food was yum but salty, and there were only 4 things on the food menu that were GF. Good for normal vegans looking for haute food. Pricing expensive.
Read morePros: Nice atmosphere, Kind staff, Good interesting
Cons: Very little GF options, Still using canola oil, Would be about $100 for 2pax

Fantastic find - Edit
Showed up just before close and was served an amazing lasagna. Delicately rolled pasta filled with tomato sauce and just enough bits of seitan to give it a little tooth. The cheese draped over was perfectly melted.

All good… - Edit
First time, won’t be the last. Had the chik’n sandwich. Very tasty combo with toppings, sauce & roll. Salad was blah, stick with the fries. Carrot, Apple, Ginger juice was delicious. Very nice ambiance and the staff worked so well together as a team. I will be back - there’s much to explore on this menu.

Pretty solid - Edit
Solid food. Cesear salad with chick'n was good. Cappuccino with oat milk was tasty as well. Banana Pudding was good too just needed a little more wafers for crunch.

Tasty! - Edit
Willow was a very nice restaurant, though unfortunately it was very busy when we went and it felt a bit loud and crowded - we were squashed in by the window in a table that was a bit too small for three people, and service was a bit scattered.
Read moreBut, the food was fantastic! I had the scallop cacio e pepe, which had so much flavour, I loved it. One of our group had the burger, which they also loved. The other had the BBQ ribs, and found them to be nicely made and well seasoned, but ultimately the dish was a bit samey and not too exciting. We were very excited to try the cookie skillet for dessert, as that's not an option we've ever seen before. It was sensational! A really decadent delight.

Delicious! - Edit
Unique selection of dishes and ingredients. Great presentation. Everything was delicious. The French onion soup was the best ever. We also had the carrot apple ginger juice, which was just the right amount of ginger. Hubby had the eggplant lasagna and I had the basalmic flatbread, which was huge. Took leftovers back to the hotel, along with desserts to go- banana pudding and cheesecake. Yum. Highly recommend.

Amazing find - Edit
I had a very pleasant lunch at this restaurant today. I was looking for a vegan restaurant on HappyCow after seeing the Edward Hopper exhibition at the Whitney, and it just happened to be on my way. I didn't expect to come across such a great restaurant. I normally avoid vegan imitations of steak, but the seitan steak, with its lemon sauce, was exquisite. I also had a cookie skillet, which made me feel like a kid again. The service was friendly and attentive. Everything on the menu looked amazing, and I can't wait to go back. This restaurant is owned by chef Guy Vaknin, who also owns Coletta. I am in awe of what he is doing with his restaurants.

Perfect Textures, bland taste. - Edit
This place has every texture perfect. Perfectly crispy “chicken” sandwich, perfectly creamy “Mac & Cheese” but it all has NO taste. I truly wanted to give a good rating but the food just wasn’t as good as it looks. Granted I was raised on soul food so I am used to more seasoning than most however this place seems to not even be aware of sea salt.

Great Vegan Food - Edit
A really great all vegan menu! Some things were a bit pricey, but well within NYC range and great quality. I loved the seitan steak and french onion soup. Also the vegan caviar was really good, and I say that as someone who hated seafood when I was a carnist. Overall would highly recommend!

Wow! Great food, great service! - Edit
What a find! I ended up here on two separate nights, reservations suggested. I would call it elevated American cuisine, not comfort food, as many items were really fresh, not just fried/heavy. The Cobb salad was amazing, and its feta, blue cheese, and chicken, all from scratch, were the best analogues I’ve had. The lemon pepper steak was done to perfection, crunchy edged seitan, flavorful sauce, creamy whipped potatoes. The French onion soup was out of this world and worth a trip itself. Both nights the service was extremely warm and welcoming. Romantic atmosphere. Must try!
